Hi everybody,
I recently cleared the FPGEE and i already cleared toefl ibt so i am awaiting my FPGEC certification. I was wondering how I could prepare for the intern interview like , --What to expect ,What type of Q will be asked-will it be technical or like a personal interview??? If some of u out there could share thy interview questions it will help people like me to get an idea of what to expect and to prepare accordingly Thanks in advance |

Grace 123,
Congratulations on making it so far! You are in a very exciting time and you have reached a major milestone in your journey to becoming a Pharmacist in the U.S. You should be very proud of your accomplishments! At this point in your journey, I can not stress the importance of being prepared for an interview. You must be prepared and rehearsed (but still sincere) for the interview. If you make it to the interview level, you do not want to miss an opportunity due to not being prepared. You have one chance with each company/location to get through the interview successfully. In this job market, you can't afford to have one unsuccessful interview as you may not get numerous interviews. It is highly likely that you will be asked the following basic questions: -Why did you decide to become a Pharmacist? -What are your career goals? -What are your strengths and weaknesses? As basic as these sound, you will not believe the answers people give for these questions that immediately eliminate them as a viable candidate in the mind of the hiring manager. You need to seize the chance to wow the hiring manager in the beginning of the interview! Otherwise, it can easily go down hill and the hiring manager may cut the interview short and you won't even know it. I am an interview expert and I can help you prepare by teaching you how to highlight your strengths to match what the employer is seeking. Knowing the questions (and their will be many more than the basics I listed above) is only part of the battle. The second part is knowing the correct, yet honest, answer. Lastly, and possibly the most important part, is that you must be prepared on how to deliver the answer! Please visit my website at www.foreigngradpharmacist.com to learn about my services and to schedule a no cost/no commitment initial consultation. I wish you great success in finding a position! -heretohelp |

hi grace
I am not a professional or an expert HOWEVER as a foreign pharmacist I went through several job interviews and learned from my mistakes one of the most important and unexpected question you can be sure to be asked is "what do you know about the company you are applying to " in order to be ready to answer to that easy question make some research about the company on the net ,an other question is "why are you applying for a job whith that company in particular ? " be prepared to be asked about your experience over the counter even if you are not asked , try to tell some funny stories that happened between you and the patients that's about it for a foreign intern .......one very important think that the person will juge is yor level in spoken English and how he or she understants you so make an effort to speak clearly as if you were speaking to a patient over the counter good luck on your interview and keep us posted |

hi grace
there is a very iportant thing that I forgot to mention it is the fact that your interviewer expects that you ask questions and will let you time for that it is highly recommanded that you have questions ready to ask when he or she will say "do you have any question? even if you already went through all the topics ..... that's all for now ,God bless |

Hey Grace,
You have been given some good feedback from someone who has gone through the process. Brian makes some excellent points that he learned from his mistakes and gives some great insight. To add to his advice in researching the company, the internet is a great overall source but to truly impress the hiring manager, speak with current employees to find out what are the hot topics/focus points INSIDE the company. Additionally, the hiring manager will definitely judge your spoken English. However, a common mistake made by the interviewee is not the speaking portion but ensuring that they listen to the question being asked. If your answer does not answer the question they asked, it shows a lack of comprehension. Many people speak English well but if they lack comprehension of the question, what they say is meaningless. Also, too long or too short of an answer can sway a hiring manager and that is why the delivery is so important! Hope the additional insight helps and good luck! -heretohelp www.foreigngradpharmacist.com |
