I finished the FPGEE exam last Dec (118 , first try). I tried the TOEFL 4 times but I could not make it in the speaking section. I usually get 29 in reading, 29 in listening, 25 in writing and 22 in speaking.
I am so surprised how many people passed the TOEFL from the first time. I tried all the strategies in all the books, but non of them worked for me. I want to know if I can get my FPGEE certificate in any state. I checked Massachusetts, they dont ask for FPGEE certificate, but there is only one catch: they need SSN which I do not have. I checked Michigan, they ask for FPGEE certificate. I need your advice about my situation, your help will be greatly appreciated. |

What i would advice you is not to despair. I did the test like five times and did not get anything beyond 24 on the speaking section. Then i came accross a thread with the advice that you could rescore this section and with luck.....i had the luck and my score changed to 26. I was about to give up having done it 5 times(all those times my score was 24 and 23 in speaking). My advice is that you can book another test while you rescore the one clsest to 26 on the speaking section. Another advice is to just relax and dont be tense(i tried without success) while doing the speaking section.
Keep in touch Orwa and though i have not received my FPGEC we could help one another as we move ahead. thanks and good luck. |

Personally, I took the toefl ibt 11 times ! Finally I passed the TSE that i took in march this year, and I was really relieved. I would really suggest that you try to register for the next TSE and TOEFL because it's much easier. Me too, I used to get 29- 30 in reading, listening and writing, but I couldn't get more than 24 in speaking with rescoring.
I also advise you to rescore every test you do because I always had a better score when I had rescored it. Good luck and think about the TSE. |

Do not give up on your Toefl Ibt. Do you know the website of Jason Renshaw on Voxopop? You can join the lessons with Jason and you will be able to pass it. I took the toefl multiple times, I already stop counting so I can't tell you how many times I took it. I bought all toefl books that you could imagine. However toefl is not just about speaking english, it is about organization and spontaneity. You need to check his website.[ TOEFL Speaking Mentor ] Renshaw Internet School of English
Good Luck! |

Lannoush keep on trying. Like i told you earlier rescoring might work for you because it did for me. In Ma, they do not need your FPGEC to start internship(though am there and not started yet). Its an option in the near future but my advice still stands. There are some sample answers on youtube...just type ouliogroove and you will get many sample questions with answers. This might also help with your speaking section. Good luck.

Hi, me too I thought that there were no seats avaliable in the US for the TSE when i looked online, until someone told me that ETS opened seats in los angeles for the TSE, but they don't want to do too much publicity about it because they prefer people to take the TOEFL iBT.
Don't take the website into consideration because information about available seats is not right, go download a registration form in the TSE and TOEFL bulletin, and send them directly by mail to ETS. Ask for the X328 center (IKN in Los Angeles), I'm sure you'll find a place. |
