Hey, guys!
I am a foreign grad currently working for chain pharmacy in Los Angeles, CA. It's horrbile. Patients are demandign, treat u anyway they want, and you can not say anything - because a customer is a client that brings money to the company. The area where I work makes it even worse - Los Angeles.(everybody thinks they're celeibrities and VIP.)

I tried to get out of retail - like to go to the hospital. HOspital requires 1 yr residency (they pay u like 40.000$ /year). I didn't mind doing it just to get out of retail. But the problem is... I have B.S. in pharmacy, not PharmD!!! So very few residencies for B.S. degreed pharmacists!!! I either have to get PostB.S. pharmd or get another degree like M.S. or PhD to get into research...

DID anybody do hospital residency with B.S. degree??? DID anybody get postB.S. PHarmD?

You can complete two years study by distance and become Pharm D but it will cost you. I believe that there is a school in Florida that will accept you if you're interested.

Hi fftb,
I think Pharm.D. or residency by itself will not necessarily make you eligible for hospital. They really focus on strong clinical knowledge. If you have that even right now, just try to apply and see if you get something.

What do you dislike most about retail. I have some friends who hate retail and there are some who dont seem to mind. What do you think makes it so bad for you. Is it the store, your personality, the customers, the company, the breaks, the lifestyle, your contribution - or just all of it?
