Hi,
I have attended the visa interview on 18th August 09 at Hyderabad. I was told that my case is under Administrative processing and my Pass port is kept with VO. The details asked in the 221 (g) I have mailed them. Still I am waiting for reply. Please advise, any body has got such experience.

My Dear,
I assume that This Administrative processing normally takes 4-8 weeks. For myself in Chennai it took 5 weeks. Don't worry, If its for H1B stamping this is happening for most people in India. Wait & Pray

Thanks for the info. I have received my H1B visa today. By the way it's validity is for one year ,till 30th Sep. 2010. Do I need to go through the same procedure of attending the consulate's office or can it be extended by the employer?

don't worry if the validity is for 1 year the reason is that you still don't have a ssn ,as soon as you have your ssn your employer will do what needs to be done in order to expand the H1B visa
