DEFICIENCY LETTER RENEWAL,INTERN LICENCE...SHARE THOUGTS
A very important notice most of you haven't put it in mind....
Most of our deficiency letter expired or about to be.we have to get them renewed and then after having the SSN apply for the intern licence. The point is,it will take the board about 90 days to renew the deficiency letter, and another 90 days to issue the intern licence! So,if we moved now we will stay from 4-6 months whitout being able to work!and you know the high cost of staying without working all that period. So,my idea is to apply for the renewal of deficiency letter, wait the renewed one, after that move to US ,apply for SSN ,have it,apply for intern licence,go back to home country, return once the intern licence is issued. PLEASE SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS AND POINT VIEWS ON THE ABOVE VERY IMPORTANT ISSUE. |

Hi Pharma King, Do you need the deficiency letter to get an intern license or is this for the purpose of being petitioned for H1B visa? I think it is only for the H1B visa.I don't think you need it for the intern license or for getting SSN. What you need for the intern license, if you are in CA, are the ff: FPGEC Cert, filled-up form, finger print scan/forms, a picture and payments. But then, you can only be issued an intern license if you have your SSN. Since you already have H1B visa, you can apply for SSN. Please check the website of CA BOP or the BOP of the State where you are going to work. You can also try to inquire from them through phone or email. God bless. |

I know you don't need the deficiency letter to apply for SSN,once you get SSN you will be able to apply for the intern license providing that you got your deficiency letter already.
the question is:should the deficiency letter be valid(not expired)to apply for the intern license after having SSN or not?what I know is that it should be valid, what do you think?I mean if you provided them with the SSN while your deficiency letter is expired, won't they ask you to renew it first? |

Hello,
Isn't it that when you apply and get a SSN, you are also eligible to get an Intern license directly? I think you won't be issued a Deficiency letter if you have a SSN. So, that cut backs 90 days on your application. |

True, if you have a SSN you don't need a deficiency letter to apply for the license. Try to check it in the website of the BOP. In CA, I have already enumerated the requirements. That's my case, btw. |

Hello All,
A deficiency letter is issued to an individual who applied for an intern license but is lacking a required document. Whether it be an FPGEE certificate or a social security number. A social security number s only issued to US Citizens, Permanent Residents and to Aliens with work authorization from USCIS. starPH ![]() |
