Thanks.
I studied for the NAPLEX at the same time using the APhA Complete Review for Pharmacy and Sourney's Comprehensive Pharmacy Review. I then read Weissman's Law Book. I also used from the CA Board's Website: the California Pharmacy Law, prior issues of The Script and Health Notes, as well as the Community Pharmacy and Hospital Outpatient Pharmacy Self-Assessment forms. My tips would be to learn as much as you can during your internship. Don't just go through the motions of working, but actually learn. For example, when typing an Rx, take the time to learn what the dosage forms it comes in (look at the bottles on the shelf, this is what helps me the most) and read the package insert for the dosing interval, counselling tips (with food/without, odd storage info etc). Look at the Rx critically and decide if its correct. This sort of practice will help cement the information in your mind. For the exam, make sure to READ THE QUESTION VERY, VERY CAREFULLY. Read the question several times, don't look at the answer and just think of what you think the answer is, then look at your options and see what matches best. The exam is a lot of critical thinking and you need to really examine the question before you answer it. Good luck. |
