Hi, Need Assistance from you guys.

Good day! I am not a pharmacy student or anything related to pharmacy. However, I am making a software for general public which is inventory. So I have to consider also the products in the pharmacy and others.

I have seen this website in the internet and so I would like to ask assistance from here.

I just would like to know one:

what should I take in to consideration about the pharmacy item.

at present, I have Item description, Item unittype and etc. What categories should I place there? any suggestions? I dont have much idea about drug products.

It depends on how detailed you want tour software, the most important categories for any drug are: trade names, side effects, drug interaction, precautions, cautions, OTC or prescription, and a small description for the mechanism. You can also add whether or not the drug is covered is health insurance plans.

finally, alternative medicine and herbal products are invading the market, so it is important to consider them in your software.
I think drugs and herbs are the most important things to consider when you are talking to the public about pharmacy issues.

thank you Orwa for the much needed reply. why is it important in a pharmacy software to include the side effects, drug interaction, precautions, cautions and otc ? do you have a cellphone number where I can call you to ask questions if it is possible!?

Those things you are asked to include in your Pharmacy Sofware (list not exhaustive) are the very things that make drugs (or any pharmacy product) unique from any other article of merchandise and therefore the only reason anyone will have a need for your final product.
