    Intership - In-patient hours

    Hello friends,

I am wondering if there is a minimum requirement for inpatient hours that we need to meet?

I am presently looking for an internship in California. Please advise!

    Thank you,

3bouda, how can we set foot in an inpatient pharmacy, hospitals in the long beach area wouldn't take me even as a volunteer. They saay they only take pharmacy students on rotations. Please advise!

Why you need to do inpatient internship? Yo do not have to. Just try small pharmacies.

I thought we had to do both settings. you answered my question above confirming that we needed to do both. If not, I am so happy... I just found an internship. I'll get started in two weeks.

Please confirm that we don't need inpatient pharmacy!

Thank you so much, you made my day... ouhooo

    Hi 3booda,

I am in Long Beach California. Please go to the following link, and see below. Please advise!

    http://www.pharmacy.ca.gov/forms/foreign_grad_law.pdf

    c. Submit proof of 1,500 hours of internship or its equivalent.
    d. Submit proof of experience in institutional and community pharmacy
    settings.

    I am confused..

According to the ca board of pharmacy, you need to do both retail and hospital intern hours. But they accept your application even if u don't have hospital hours.

    Hi guys,

You were right. I called the board, and we do not have to do inpatient hours. We just need to fulfill the 1500 hours.

Thank you so much for your input
