Florida Intern
Hi Pharmacist2005 and everyone,
It seems that we can work as Florida Intern but you need to have social security which is valid for working before applying for Florida Intern. Does that mean that if you have social(SSN) which is not valid to work, you cannot get Florida Intern? Or Should you apply for Intern job in Florida first, then you must have your employers file H-1 for you before you can apply for Florida Intern? Do you know any recruiter that accepts Florida Intern right now? How much possible, 1-5% to get a job in Florida or more than that? If you have any information related and don't want to post here, please send private message to me. Even we get 45 and have H-1 and finish 500 hours, can we take NAPLEX and then fulfil 2,080 hours. After that, can we work as a pharmacist in Florida only? That means that we can work as a pharmacist but not certified pharmacist. Right? Later, if we want to move to other states, do we need to retake all FPGEE, TOEFL and TSE again? How many years can we move? Thank you. Knok

hi knok
it is true that you need to have an SSN with authorization to work in order to work in florida. my friend who is currently employed with eckerd pharmacy in florida had advised me to first apply for internhip license. the board will give a deficiency letter for SSN and you can approach any recruiters for H1. This is the procedure most of the guys follow. he did tell me about one consultant who can help to get h1 but doesn't prmoise good pay. If you want i can try to find out his details and mail you in private. After doing 500 hrs you can take NAPLEX from florida as additional 2080 hrs are required only for the final state license. One thing you should be careful about is that if you are planning to take naplex to speed up your long wait of exams then please confirm from your state board if they accept the FL NAPLEX score as TEXAS and some other state don't accept FL naplex score transfer. you have to take the florida state license and then only you can sit for the MPJE in those states (eg- florida). If you want to transfer your scores or license from one state to the other then you can simply take the MPJE of the exam and get the license. but before doing all that please verify the reciprocacity of different states. you don't have to retake TOEFL, FPGEE and TSE again till the time you have cleared the NAPLEX but FPGEE score has some validity issues as you know. you can keep moving to different states or take licenses in multiple states as long as you want but if you are planning about states like FL and CA check out the details with the state board. some states don't take foreign graduates at all and don't recognize FPGEE also as you can see from the link i posted for state boards. But don't worry they are very few who do that .so if you tell me exactly which state you are in and where do you plan to move let me know. Florida is currently not asking for FPGEC certificate so 45 is okay to get started but most of the states now demand a copy of the FPGEC and for that we have to get 50. before they change more rules you should apply and get the deficiency letter from florida state board. bye pharmacist2005 |

Re: Florida Intern
Pharmacist2005,
Thank you for your information. Do you mean that Florida sets its own NAPLEX which is different from NAPLEX of NABP? I think that once I decide to move to Florida, I may not want to move to other states since the weather in Florida is nice. What I am concerned is herricane and tornado. I also may need to find a good school for my son who will study in grade 12th next year. I may have to move him in the middle of high school. He did pretty well in the past years though. Big deal! Or another option is just to go back to my home country. However, I'd appreciate if you send me the recruiter's names. Thank you again for taking your time to help us. Good Luck. Knok

Re: Florida Intern
hi knok & anaveen
florida doesn't have its own naplex but it doesn't participate in the score transfer program. if you read the NAPLEX score transfrer program (naplex bulletin) you'll see some states don't accept some states naplex scores eventhough for everyone naplex is the same. it is entirely upon the discretion of the state board. FLorida is good as far as my friends have told me. i am totally new to the country as i came here in june last year. you can get intern license with your fpgee score report and tse score as luckily florida doesn't demand fpgec certificate so far. so apply as soon as possible by downloading the application for intern. once you get the florida state license then you can move to any other state but can't transfer naplex alone of florida to "some" states. so don't worry with ur intern license in hand you can approach different recruiters. start applying online to various chain stores. i'll try to get the consultants name to you both as a part of private message but it will take time and meanwhile you two can start with intern license. all the best pharmacist2005 |

Re: Florida Intern
hi pharmacist 2005,
thanks very much for your reply, I've few doubts regarding the documents that I've to send along with application, is that ok if I send the xerox copies of FPGEE result, TSE , TOEFL and SSN? or else I've to send the originals and they are also asking the FPGEE approval letter, but I think I don't have to send it because I already got my result. pls. let me know so that I can start applying right away. once again thanks for spending your valuable time to answer my queries |
