Hi everybody i would like to know :
How could the cap of 2005 H1B visa be reached in september 2004

Doesn't the application for 2005 H1B visa start from 1 april 2005 till 30 september 2005

or this is the time of issuing?

And if i want to apply for 2006 H1b visa should i apply now or i have to wait till
April 2006?

And finally how long does it take from the date of application for the H1B visa till I could be issued the H1B visa ?

I will be more than grateful if anyone could help me in finding answers for these questions or tell me his experience in this prediculum?

Hi salvation888

Understand one thing first. 2005 fiscal year for H1B has started on October 2004.
2006 H1B fiscal year starts from October 2005.

For the 65,000 quota for H1B 2006 fiscal year, applications are being taken since April 2005.

The 20,000 H1B quota for 2005 fiscal year that is being taken now is only for F1 candidates in US.

If u apply next April for H1B, it might come under 2007 fiscal year for which the starting date is Oct.2006.

Anyway, it seems this year, the H1 quota for this October still has seats left. So if u wanna apply for 2006 quota, try to find a recruiter of retail pharmacy chain and they will file the H1 for u.

I know all this is confusing...I too was confused at first

Usually regular H1B might take about 30-90 days for approval. Premium processing might take about 2 weeks or upward for approval. However, for the 65,000 H1 quota that is being filed now, even if u get the approvalat an earlier date, the starting date for the visa will be only from Oct 2005.

That was a very clear explanantion i was looking for..
Can u help me in guiding me as what steps have to be taken to get into 2006 quota.
Becos i have given my Fpgee in 2005 and waiting for my results.I have done with TSE.I am giving TOEFL on Aug10..I assume by the results come ..I will be left with short time to appraoch and get the H1B visa done.Are they any other options other than waiting till April 2006.
What documents are normally needed got H1B visa ...so that i can make them ready to best utilize the time.
Looking forward for your reply...
