Hi,

Why dont you try to contact hospitals? They do hire interns/ technicians those have passed FPGEE. And as far as I know they dont have a prob to sponsor your H1b visa eventhough it reached cap. That is only applicable to profit making organisation like chain & individual pharmacies. While, hospitals are non-profit organisation. This is what I have heard. Just try to contact hospitals.

Hope this helps. Goodluck!

unfortunately very few hospitals wants to go over the legal hassles of hiring workers needing sponsorship. all i can think of is Stanford Hospital in CA. but they are way up high in their qualifications. you have to be an excellent, creme de la creme candidate to be worth their attention...

you can try doing mygoal2k6's advice. if by first week of october you are not able to find a sponsor, it is best and safest to leave the US before your B1 expires. yes, you can extend your B1, but it wont look good on your records and may or may not affect your application for an H1b because obviously you were buying more time to find work. but to check your timeline, its still not possible to keep a good status with your B1 if you can only start to work by Oct of 2006.

your friends are right that you can contact US employers while in your home country. a lot of people had gone through that. big chain pharmacies do that... you have the same chances as people who are living here and finding sponsorship... so dont worry about leaving. it is better than overstaying your status here.

Hi Geofar
I'm in the same boat, I'm here on B1 visa but mine expired on January 31 2006 so I will stay here until that date and look for a sponsor for Oct 2006.
I'm very dissapointed with this because I wanted to start my internship this october but it seems that we are late.
By the way I will search in Hospitals, here in Florida.
Good Luck and my advice is to leave USA before your visa expire, I will do the same.

Hi Geofar,

I would also advice you to leave USA before your visa expires.

In the meantime, you can contact recruiters and hospitals. Talk to them about your H1b visa for Oct 2006 and if possible, get your paper work ready for them and hand it over to them, finalize it in your presence and request them to process your papers (in your absence) after you apply it from your home country. I understand its bit difficult, but its worth trying.

If no one agrees, you have the other option of contacting them via emails/faxes from your country and apply for your H1b. Take a help of any of your friends who will be in USA after you leave.

Hope this helps. Dont get annoyed or confused, rather keep working on it for the remaining days in USA.

Good luck!

what we mean is that YOU CAN and ITS POSSIBLE to contact employers while overseas. there is no easy and quick way out of your particular situation especially when time is a matter to you. so we never said it was easy.

go to the internet (everything is there) and search all hospitals in any area you wish to look. go to their websites and post your resume and cover letters mentioning clearly your visa status and working visa requirements. i already mentioned one hospital, so go and check it out.

your confusions will be cleared if you try and do enough research.

as per our advice, never overstay your visa deadline. it will not help to overstay just to find an employer. it will just jeopardize your H1b application because it will reflect negatively when they check your status.

If i were you, I wouldn't go back. Theres no way they're gonna let you come back. Stay here illegally if you have to. Try to get sponsership then. You're best chances would be to get sponsership from a large retail chain like walgreens or cvs because they need people badly and are willing to dish out the funds good luck.

no big chain company nor big bucks could frighten the INS from rejecting your H1b application in the grounds of granting an ILLEGALLY OVERSTAYING ALIEN legitimate work.... living illegally in the US means you cannot get an SSN, you cannot drive a car, you cannot apply for bank accounts or any financial service.

cmon! do you think these big companies will hire illegal aliens esp pharmacists!? who do you think youre going to fool here? the first thing these companies will ask from you is your passport and travel documents.... they are not that desperate enough to hire foreigners with overstaying papers... theyd rather look somewhere else than do the wrong thing and get penalized.

you leave, keep your status without blemish and the INS will grant your H1b clean and neat.
