Applying for H1b visa

Hi everyone,

Is there a deadline for applying for H1b visa for 2006? Did anyone go through this process lately?? I'm afraid I might have to apply for sponsorship, but don't know how to start.!

There is no fixed deadline in filing for an H-1B petition. However, you have to file it asap because there is a quota mandated for every fiscal year. Filings start in April for an October start date. So if the quota is met, an applicant has to wait for April of next year to apply again. Basically, to start the ball rolling for your H-1B petition you have to find a company to sponsor you for the visa. Good Luck!!!
