working as a pharmacy technician?

Hi all!
Is is possible to work as a pharmacy technician until I sit for FPGEE? I don't want to waste time not working, but still want to be around pharmacy. So do we need license for it? Or our degree is enough to show them?
thanks

depending on which state you are in, for example, some state I know needs you to apply for a license as a technician, this is just filling in their application and paying the appropriate fees, other state ask for a technician certification before you can apply for a licence, and some state requires you to finish a technician course before you can apply for a license but over all you have to contact the board of pharmacy where you wanna work, and they will gladly give you a much better information.

HI,

Did ca board really give you technician certificate(intern licence) without Fpgee certificate.I know before 2003 Jan they gave intern licence to the pepole who submitted their official transcripts after that they are asking to write Tecnician exam regardless of bachelor degree in pharmacy.

Can u please clarify my doubt and when did u get your technician licence?

Thanks for the help.

In my opinion, they generally don't give visa for pharmacy techinician job.Because here students from graduate school work as interns in pharmacy and whoever take pharmacy technician exam after their diploma from one of the community college or from some pharmacy college work as technician. This is upto my knowledge so consult someone who came as a technician from foreign country.

hi! yes im a foreign graduate... if u already have ur fpgee cert. dont bother to apply for pharm. tech. license... just apply for the graduate intern already... they pay graduates more than being a tech... are u green card holder or need a working visa?
