Is there anyone to get 1 year H1 visa for this year,not 3-year visa?

YEs i got a one year visa last year which will get expired tis year. do u have any idea whether such visa's will get extended or not .please reply if u know abt it

you can extend your visa if your current employer is willing to do or transfer your H1 to another employer before it expires.
you better talk with your employer and take an action before it expires.
do you have any idea why you got one year visa in stead of 3 year one?
In fact, I can't understand. are you working as an intern in pharmacy?

I believe it's the discretion of the employers if they want to apply their interns for a one year or three year H-1B visa.

I have no clue why i got a 1 year visa. I just started working as an intern.might be since its a small independant pharmacy

Hi apple_sell,
As i posted before on the NAPLEX forum, the duration of the H1B depends only on one factor which is the officer himself who is processing ur papers, some of them give it for 1 year, others for 3 years, being a small independant pharmacy doesn't affect the duration because it's also happened to pharmacy intern sponsered by large chain companies whom i know personally.

Hi salvation,

It shd be true because i read abt it in the forum taht some have got 1 year visa. I wanted to ask one more thing ,do u know how early one has to apply for an extension and what will the approximate fees be. If u have any idea please let me know.

ask your employer.

if they have all good reasons to keep you working, they should already be doing their paperwork and legworks of extending your visa, which should be at least 4 months prior the expiration. it does require a lot of paperworks, postings, INS requirements to extend it. the extension applic should be filed 2 months priorl.

does it mean that the extension of H1B is not counted among the 65000 H1B visas for the next year?mine is also 1 year and it expires oct 2007, doe it mean my employer can apply in in august 2007?

Hi Pharmajay,
H1B extension is defiently not counted among the H1B quta, that's why u can apply for it 4 months before it expires ( which can be any month during the year )
