When did u graduate? The nabp requires a 5-year pharmacy program if u graduated after jan.2003.if u graduated before, then u have to ask for an application form for the fpgee in the website.
You have to do simultaneously(to save time) the processing of your papers.
In the registrars office of your university, you have to ask for the ORIGINAL COPY of your transcript of records, certificate of graduation and diploma ,all with stamps and seal of the university and have them enclosed in a SEALED envelope addressed to the ECE(check the website for the exact address).
Then,go to the PRC and ask for the authenticated copy of your proof of license, board certificate, certificate of good rating, copy of license card.again, all with stamp and seal of the PRC enclosed in an envelope addressed to the NABP.
Then, prepare the bank draft for each of them.(check website for the exact amount).
Have a certified photocopy of your passport, the application form should be notarized.
MOst important is ,DOUBLECHECK the requiremnts before sending them so wont face any problem in the future.
Hope this helps.

About the visa, first u have to apply for a tourist visa(when nabp approves your application) to take the exam.
If u r referring to the working visa,u have to have a sponsor before u can get a visa.and before this,u have to have a FPGEC certificate, meaning you have passed the Fpgee and toefl ibt.
I know its a long process and sounds discouraging but if u really pursue,u can do it.just be patient.im also in the same situation.im going to sit for the EE this december but i havent registered yet, still waiting for the registration letter.
if u need more info, then feel free to send me a message.

More than the processing of the application for the FPGEE

Hi there Janjan. I believe, what's more dreadful than the intricate procedure of applying for the FPGEE via NABP is getting the visa. If you already have a multiple entry H1-B then good for you. You have 3/4 of the problem solved. They really don't care, I mean the consuls, about the FPGEE. If they don't like you, or believe you won't be comming back, you can't do anything. I know it sounds discouraging but you just have to keep on trying. You understand how difficult it is right? The visa part I mean. For the application process, it's just a matter of completing the requirements: diploma, transcript ( all certified true copies, signed and dry sealed by the university registrar ), certificate of good standing ( signed and sealed again by the PRC ), and the completed FPGEE form, which you get after you request for an application (notarized). The package from NABP arrives within a month of your request. At least mine did.

The problem is, if you pay the requirements and the FPGEC schedules you for an exam, which they automatically do, and you don't get a tourist visa. You are only allowed to re-schedule twice. And there is a re-schedulling fee if you don't inform them before the cut-off date.

Don't be discouraged. The procedure is long and tedious but the rewards will be great. I am a resident doctor in anesthesia about to finish my residency. Would you believe i started this procedure when I was still an intern? Yes, that was way back 2002 and it's 2006 now. I was only able to take the FPGEE in 2004 in New York. There was some problem before with the NABP before you see so I got delayed. I got denied a visa once but got approved after company sponsorship. I paid for everything. Apparently, I had to change companies cause the first company that hired us was a little inefficient. The company I applied to now worked and handled our papers efficiently. I just got my visa approval ( working visa ) 3 days ago and I'm off to leave hopefully before the year ends.

My advice, take the TOEFL and TSE immediately. I'm sure you will pass the FPGEE. Don't be afraid. Be brave to jump into the water. That way, you'd be able to get your FPGEC certificate quick. Once you get the certificate, decide on which state you want to work and apply for licensure. You won't get any license but that's ok. Just comply with the requirements and you'd get yourself a deficiency letter. That is sufficient. Just a deficiency letter coz they require an SS number which of course you cannot have until you get there again. Maybe you can get one na once you sit for the FPGEE. Also, apply in decent companies only like Walgreens, Rite-aid, CVS, Eckerd's etc. Mas mabilis kasi sila mag-process coz they're big companies.

I recommend Shargel's Comprehensive Pharmacy review, and Lippincott's Review of Pharmacology. There is another Pharmacy Review in Goodwill Glorietta. it's colored yellow, but forgot what it's called. Check it out. And last, don't forget to pray. Remember, he makes all the decisions.

I hope this helps. And encourage your classmates to apply. Natatalo na tayo ng mga friends natin from the Middle East and India. ang daming nag-aapply sa kanila.

More info...

Hi janjan. Before I proceed, I need to correct myself. Yung una kong letter I said you initially need an H1-B. Sorry, it's B1 pala. That's tourist visa. H1-B is working and you need company sponsorship for that. May tourist visa ka na ba? If yes then, ok na ok. You're like, almost there.

To answer your question, no you don;pt have to take any other exam. Just the local boards then FPGEE na. It's quite difficult specially the Pharmacy administration and economics part. I found the clinical and basic science part quite easy. About the TOEFL and TSE, if you feel magaling ka na sa english then ok na yun. Wag ka na mag-review. But TSE is quite tricky and even if you feel you're quite conversant in english, nakakakaba pa din siya. Partly because it's impromptu and you won't know what's comming next. Pero TOEFL kayang kaya mo na.

ok, so good luck again. I hope I answered your questions.
