Hi pharmacist0006,

I couldn't help but ask about your earlier reply to Ziggy. You said to apply to CVS and other pharmacies except Walgreens and Rite-Aid. You did mention some problem with the legal department of Walgreens, but what about Rite-Aid? Are these two companies having trouble with sponsorships right now? I'm worried about my friends back in Manila.

Hi there,
well the only reason about these two companies is that wiht the type of exp i an dmy friends had with them i would rather be with a company and work for such people who are atleast honest upfront u know with rite aid the problem is with its international pharmacist recruiter Sagee mahmoud i am not sure if the upline people are warare of her attitude but when u deal with her u might or might not get the same type of treatment that many of my friends did when they have been trying for their internship.I can openly say one thing for her is she is very very unprofessional and unethical person i am from the same country she is from but its sad to find the way tht she has treated people (this is my worst exp.With people in pharmacy field in US) .
Now walgreens they say that they need people which might be true but if they really need people then they need to work little faster and more efficiently as they do in the prescription volume .It just makes people wonder when they are getting offers in other states with some of theleading grocery chains why in the hec would they want to wait for walgreens ??(infact some of the grocery chains pay more than walgreens does and they do respond promptly and help u out much faster than walgreens does!!!) once again the efficiency that they expect their workers to have do they really have it ??? I hate to wait for ayear and then hear from them saying yes they need me esp when u hav eur itnernship to complete and reach ur goal towards being a full fledge pharmacist and infact i did hear that they have delayed in hiring the pharmacist too .....
So these are the things that i normally feel andlook at before accepting the offer from any company no matter who its i will be paid the same market price any ways this is just my epx and my thoughts and it should definately vary ....

Hey, thank you so much pharmacist0006. You have given valuable insight about company H1-B sponsorship. I didn't think it was like this. Now I see the reality of it. It's unfortunate that we are treated this way, but what can we do? We are at their mercy. All pharmacy applicants are highly educated people, most I think are MS or Pharm.D. holders. I myself am an MD back in Manila. I just finished my training in Anesthesiology but I opted to work here as a pharmacist for a better life. I'm supposed to take the diplomate exam in Anesthesiology this March but what the heck? What I'll make there in a month, I'll earn it here in a day and a half. Isn't that amazing? The Philippines is a beautiful country but the economy is bad. You can keep on working for 20 years and nothing is gonna happen to you.

My mother is a pharmacist as well and she is here in CA. She will be taking the Pharmacy tech exam so she could work, at least, in a pharmacy. At the moment, she's working as a cashier for Target.

On a different note, I'm gonna be starting with Rite-Aid in about 2 weeks, I hope. Once I get the CA intern license. They're paying me $23.50/hr, but my friend who started Dec. 20 said she was paid more. Is this the rate of pay for interns? What about the pharmacist rate? I hope you don't mind my asking. I know the pharmacist rate is $47-51.00/hr. Is there some truth to this?

can u please tell me how to and whom to contact to get sponcership through rite-aid? like walgreen has international.pharmacist@walgreens.com to contact. as i m very confused i m on h4 visa and waiting for fpgee certificate?

how did u get internship in rite aid...are they sponsoring ur work visa or u already have that. whom did u contact. I have been trying to reach Sagee mahmoud for so long now without any success. please help....

hi rigoletto1975. im also an MD in the philippines. from what school are you from? i also heard of another anesthesiologist who got in with walgreens in CA. ive had a few replies from the chains but nothing sure yet. hope to talk to you. is it ok if i send you a private email?
