I am currently on H4 visa and for Hi B sponsorship in Pennsylvania state lawyer asked me to get an intern license or letter from the State Board of Pennsylvania that I meet all the requirements for an intern license except that I don't have a social security number. Has anyone faced the same issue. I am sure there must be people on H4 visa from Pennsylvania. Please reply ASAP

The Social Security Number is mandatory to get registration as Pharmacy Intern. Anybody from New Jersey who got visa changed from H4 to H1.

It doesnt matter your are on h4 /B1/OR NEW H1B . everyone needs intern license those who dont have SSN they have to apply same way as those have SSN only difference is you get deficency letter instead of intern license.
your lawyer is taking abt that letter .the letter states that you met all requirement since SSN number is missing please submit the SSN.

Thanks for ur reply. Should I apply for deficiency letter from the State board and fill the application for the intern license at the same time. Do you have any idea how much time does the states to issue that letter?..

Hi intern2007,
I am from PA state and I asked for the deficiency letter from the state board and they are telling that they donot issue a deficiency letter.I donot know what to do.

Hi tomrai

Did u apply to the PA board?..I called them and the lady told that my license will be denied and they will issue a letter denying it. Is that not the deficiency letter. What did they tell u?

Hi intern2007,
I am from PA.I contacted the state board .They said that they cannot issue a deficiency letter unless the intern application is submitted along with other needed documents.(they did not mention what the other documents are)

Hi intern 2007,
I donot know about that......In that intern application form there is a part that has to be filled by the perceptor,so if someone offers you a position in the pharmacy then only you can complete that......Hope this helps and what ever I know I am more than happy to tell you if you need any more clarifications.Good Luck.

Hi tomrai,

Were u able to file your H1B visa without the Social Security number?. I have a preceptor willing to sign the intern application and a retail chain sponsor my work visa.

Inorder to file for H1B visa you donot need a SSN.We will get the SSN after the visa is being issued,I believe.
