Let's get together to send the TOEFL iBT complaint to ETS and NABP

I am also struggling to get 26 in Speaking section. Check this out .... I found it on the website:

It seems to me that obtaining a passing English test score is required by law( in order to be certified to practice the profession)...I think this applies to pharmacists also. I just found it and now I understand why NABP requires 26 in Speaking section.
I might be wrong ..let me know...I am not an expert.

Thank you for the link. However, there is no message that says, "NABP must allow only TOEFL iBT or Speaking = 26."

Nurses are allowed other tests such as IELTS and TOEIC. There is no message that says that the monopoly should be implemented to measure English proficiency.

The problem is the monopoly and ETS does not give a fair testing environment and scoring. How can ETS explain when scores of 24 from the same candidate can be changed to 28 or 19?

Thanks Knok, you are a brave leader!

I think you are doing the right things for most FPG, and we must unite and fight for our justice, and to let those organizations hear our voice! TOEFL ibt speaking section is not realistic, as you suggested, 20 on this section or a combined score of 80 ~ 100 may very well serve the purpose of testifyng a person's English fluency. I took ibt in Feb, and I got almost full scores in other three section, but 19 on this section. I took another one in August, and result is not available yet.

I agree, even though I cleared the TOFEL iBT by rescoring, I did another test the same day I started the re scoring process in, and I got 23. To make thing easier; I did 3 tests the first in Jan. speaking was 23, the second was in April, and I got first 24 then after rescoring (that process took about a month which was the month of July) I got 28. I did another one in June 29 and I got 23. You can see the variability here. I don't mind taking my case as an example if you want to change the situation for the speaking with the NABP. Hope this will help.

I will post the poll for rescoring in the TOEFL speaking forum. If you know anyone who had the same experience, please help us.

NABP is too quiet. I will start writing another letter. My friend is looking for a lawyer seriously. If anyone has additional information or wants to help in the process to stop this ordeal, please do not hesitate to do so. Otherwise, several thousand candidates and their families must be in trouble because of the flaw of the scoring process and testing process.

Hello , I wish everyone to read that message , to know what's going in the ETS, and how those people manage their buisness.
I was supposed to enter the TOEFL ibt test for the third time on the 25th August , in an official authorized test center . It is my third time to get through it , struggling with the 26 in speaking , and after long hopeless trip in the TSE. Anyway , I went there on time or you can say before the reporting time by 15 minutes and all other test candidates did. The test was supposed to start at 1 pm , but do you believe that those who was in charge to operate the test didn't arrive before 12.45 pm !!!!!!!!!
Anyway me and others waited at the gate of the test center to go and start our test on time , but it was 1.15 pm and no one showed up. Surprisngly, the responsibles appeared and told us that there is a problem in the server that should work the test and they are trying to fix it .
We waited nervously , stressed , exhausted and almost dissappointed because some people were planning to travel after the test and they might miss their flights , and others have buisness meetings after the test.
Do you imagine what happened ? responsibles declared at 3.15 pm , two hours 15 minutes after the test time, that the problem is out of control and we should reschedule at another date with the ETS!!!!!
What kind of humilation is that ??? will anyone tell me , please ? For god's sake how can this happen in a test center authorized by the ETS ???
Will anyone tell me what can I do after I took a week off from my job to dedicate all my time and effort to practise that speaking for the test??
And now I have to start from the early beginning , wait for another 2 months till they put me on another date , study again , stress again , and worried about the score that may affect my career . It's noteworthy that till moment the ETS didn't reply to what happened at that test center .
If there is any possibilty to send that case to the NABP , to alarm them about how the ETS operate its centers and tests .
And , if you can find any way to help someone who studied , waited and paid for the test without taking it , don't hesitate to tell me , please
N.B. I was the only one at the center in that day , who supposed to get a separate minimum score at every section of the exam . All other applicants should get a minimum overall score for the whole test.

Hi everybody,
It is totally ridiculous.I was supposed to test on August 25,2007 in Cleveland center.The test was cancelled once again after waiting for more than two hours.I would like to mention that this is the third time I faced of simillar situation.My first test was cancelled on April 21, 2007 at Akron,Ohio center(without testing),second was cancelled on June 29, 2007 at Niles,Ohio center(after testing and even after recieving score),third was cancelled at ELS cleveland center on August 25,2007(without testing).Always, the reason given was ets server down.The test center manager tried desperately,each time to get connected but the result was always negative.
Now this is too much.We should do something to raise our voice more effectively.

Does someone receive some news from NABP or something? Don't you think we should remind them that we are still waiting for an answer?

Well, it is the major reason why we need the legal organization to voice any concerns for us. As an individual, we have no power to negotiate. I remember KNOK posted the poll for forming the international graduated pharmacist organization. There are only 21 members participate in that poll. KNOK tried his/her best to voice the ineffectiveness of ETS but he/she has no power to negotiate with ETS or NABP. Although members accept KNOK as the leader, he/she does not legally represent us. I guess that why NABP or ETS do not bother to response KNOK’s or others’ petitions. If we trust Knok and want Knok to voice any unfairness or ineffectiveness, we need to form the organization.

Hi,
I met the same situation on Aug 25. The test was cancelled after 2 hours later. They strongly warned us that if we left the test center before 2 hours, we would loose money.You know what, that test was going to taken in a shopping center (the back of theater of Comp USA stores, Texas). Up to know, I have not received any information about re-schedule for the test.
