Hi Knok,
I'm a foreign pharmacist. I have some doubts regarding the petitions we are sending, would you please help me?

1)Altogether how many copies of TOEFL iBT complaint am I supposed to send?
A copy to
a) FPGEC, b) Competency Assessment Director and c) office of consumer affairs?

2 Two separate petitions to FPGEC and Competency Assessment Director requesting other English Proficiency Examinations?
3) Test center problem discription to all these three institutions/respective persons?
4)A photocopy of the TOEFL score report to to all these three?

Yes, you are correct. Please do not change the heading. We will write Consumer Affairs at the heading to let FPGEC and Competency Assessment Director know that we sent it to Consumer Affairs. We already put CC at the end of this letter. Therefore, it is fine to sent it like that but please type your name and addresses and sign your name.

Yes, please put your name on the third and forth file of the attachment. The headings already mention FPGEC and Competency Assessment Director. Don't forget your EE number though.

Note: This petition letter is totally different from the TOEFL iBT Complaint letter (topic 1). Some people think that they are the same. No, this letter will be sent to FPGEC and Competency Assessment Director only, not Consumer Affairs. It is about asking NABP to reconsider the score requirement, to accept other English tests, and to create its own English proficiency test.

Yes, you can print online score report from ETS web site if it is not down. If you rescored your test, you must copy the previous score because online score report shows only the latest score.

If you have information or different experiences from what the letters state, please write a brief note or a short letter to Consumer Affairs, FPGEC and Competency Assessment Director.

Please remember that NABP listens to everyone. We all are pharmacists who hope to be contributing members of society and help patients in America. Executive directors and NABP committes are very nice. They listen if we have good reasons to present.

I'm a friend of Knok. I would like to thank you Knok again for her effort to write these letters. She worked so hard and dedicated her time putting every detail in the letters. Please give her an applause.

I would like everybody to send these letters and please vote if you have sent them already. So we know roughly how many people have sent the letters. If you also leave your feed back in this thread, we'll appreciate it. If any of you have friends who are foreign pharmacists, please let them know about this matter and encourage them to send the letter. That would be great.

Thanks Oh. I know that your husband and you worked so hard as well. I hope that these letters can be a wake-up call for NABP and authorities. I know that everyone worked hard to help find information to put in the letters. Thank you very much.

We will send these letters to State Boards of Pharmacy as well. If nobody listens, then we will go ahead to send our petition to IL Attorney General and U.S. Commission. We already sent the TOEFL iBT to office of NJ Consumer Affairs. TOEFL iBT Complaint is not limited only pharmacists, all TOEFL iBT test takers will send it.

I know that the real number of people who sent the letters are a lot more than the number we see on the poll since many people received letters by forward email.

We hope that we can get the cover letter for State Board by this weekend.

Just hang on. We will give NABP time for responding our petition. Let's send to State Boards first. Since State Boards have connection with NABP, they need to be informed about this matter. It is important.

Hi Knok or all TOEFL-iBT examinees:

From my experience, I found out that we do not have enough response time for the TOEFL-iBT speaking questions. I think we should do something about it. WE should ask ETS to extend the response time for each intergrated speaking question to 2 minutes, and extend the response time for each independent speaking question to 1 minute. Plus, we need more preparation time for each speaking question, such as 45 seconds for independent speaking question and 60 seconds for intergrated speaking.

What do you think? I think everyone especially pharmacist need to do something about it. Maybe we should all complain to ETS, NABP and FPGEE organization through letters or e-mails that the english speaking test should only test our ability to speak understandable english. It is not fair to test our summary and paraphrase skill. We need more response time and more preparation time for all TOEFL-iBT speaking questions. Otherwise, having not enough time to prepare and to response to the speaking questions in the test would affect our scores a lot.

I have been getting reading 28,
listening 26,
speaking 23,
writing 27.

I think my spoken english is clear and understandable. However,I am still struggling to get a speaking score of 26, just because I don't have enough time to summarize or paraphrase my speaking responses. This test is not fair. If I have more response or preparation time for speaking questions, I would have got a speaking score of 26 a long time ago.
