FPGEE or Doctor of Pharmacy.Which way is the right decision?

    Hi Everyone,

I don't know how to decide whether I take FPGEE or study Doctor of Pharmacy in U.S. I am a pharmacist in Vietnam. I find it is very difficult for TOEFL, esp. Speaking score 26.Therefore, I am thinking of the another option. That means, I study again Doctor of Pharmacy.
Could you please give me advice? In general, how may percent of us follow FPGEE and how many percent follow re-studying?

    Thank you for your advice.
    Lynn

if you can afford at least $30,000 A YEAR in tuition and have a very high score on TOEFL-iBT on the spoken English section and must show at least $20,000 in the bank, you MAY be admitted for school for a PharmD degree as a foreign student.

You need to have at least $45,000 for the first year to show U.S. consulate. It is the costs of Tuition+board+ expenses for first year.

Thank you for your advice. Please help me in following questions:
    1. I am in U.S under H4 visa, am I treated as foreign student or in-state student?
    2. How long does it take to finish Pharm.D in case I already earned pharmacist degree in my country?
    3. I hear that there are only two states accepted this program for foreign students (california and Florida), is it correct?
    4. In general, is it better to follow FPGEE for foreign phamacist like us?

    1. On H4, you can apply as a foreign student but no need to require to apply for J1 visa or student visa. but likewise, there are still english TOEFL iBt exams to take.

    2. So if you are done with the English exams and find a school, it now depends on the university on how they will credit your units back in Vietnam. that will determine how long it will take you to study.

    3. There could me more states out there. those states are better to study and live because they are "asianized" communities.

    4. Yes, its the easily and less costly way.

just work on your TOEFL-iBT and study for your FPGEE. you are already on your way.
