By the year of 2020, there will be a shortage of $150,000 pharmacists nationwide. Who should be blamed for?

Good luck.

Thank you for letting us know about the update. I haven't gotten anything yet.

However, I sent out all these letters to State Board members, Congress, Governor, Attorney General and AG -Antitrust. Should we send to the president of NABP? I am planning to send to National chain drugstores soon. I hope that some of these people will listen.

Keep going..

FYI: language discrimination: know your right

Why does NABP set 26 speaking section for international pharmacists while average score of native-English speaker and American is less than 26?

Is it a language discrimination?

Thanks, Rarin. To emphasize,
  • the mean score for Americans in TOEFL iBT -Speaking section is 22 and
  • the mean score for candidates who came from the countries in which English is their primary language is 23.

Professionally determined need for pharmacy services by 2020

Project need by 2020 -->150,000
By David Knapp Ph.D.

http://www.nacds.org/user-assets/pdf...inalreport.pdf

"But the conference participants projected that these services will require almost 300,000 FTE pharmacists by 2020 in order to fully meet projected needs. The balance must come from new graduates, foreign pharmacists, and improvements in productivity in patient care. In the meantime, pharmacists must carefully organize their activities to meet the needs of the highest priority patients and functions.

To sum up, the conference participants concluded that the profession of pharmacy should not only continue to emphasize improved utilization of its members, but also move rapidly to increase the overall size of its enterprise. To the extent that the workforce of pharmacists does not expand fast enough to meet professionally-determined needs for pharmaceutical care, that care will either not be provided or will be provided through other means.(Knapp)"
