Guys,
I think you are from Canada, I am a foreign pharmacist holding PR status for Canada but not moved permanently to Canada. I have few queries, kindly help me

1. Suppose, If i do not attend any of the exams , with my experience ,can I get an entry level job in pharmacy field??
2.After passing the Evaluating exam is it possible to get a job as an intern pharmacist , if so do they pay any salary?
3. Which place is better and easy to become a pharmacist( less formalities)

I have to move to Canada by next yr, so just thinking of writing Evaluating exam.
thanks in advance.
Sarah.

And now about questions
I don't know what do you use as a reference, but in my books it nowhere said about increasing dose of antipsychotic - usual recommendation is to remove offender, if possible, switch to clozapine - some improvements are seen sometimes. Also treat with benzodiazepines...
Propafenone cause constipation and metallic taste.
Amiodarone - hyper/hypothyroidism, corneal deposits...
About felbamate - well... I was worried I didn't even recorgnized the name so I started searching It's not in TC, it's not in CPS (neither in the list of products or discontinued) in wiki it said felbamate was approved and then withdrawn in US. Now it's only approved in UK in US on limited bases. So my verdict is - forget about it.
HAy Jane,
I wish you are enjoying your life.
I read about this EPS management in Shargeal 4th Edition, wich confuse to me also. Now I read in TC and you are right and its give sense also.
I believe Propafenone is a new Product I never come across.
Question, Weight gain is more with first generation or 2nd generation Antipsychosis?
TC

I am preparing for Evaluating exam in Jan 08. I have few friends at different stages of the exams and for sure will ask them to hoin the forum. The best and coolest part is that when you search for "Canada, pharmacy, exam, etc" forum in Google this thread stands on top.
Keep it up.

It is great news and welcome every body.
I wish you can also take part in our discussion.

Hi rizpic!
Oh, did you get a TC! congratulations
Propafenone is in TC 4 and it was published in 2003.
Weight gain is more with 2nd generation antipsychotics.
My question: a client came to your pharmacy with a prescription for morphine, how you consult him about side effects and what should you advice him to buy?

1. No way. (maybe for America graduated pharmacists there are different rules but I know nothing about that)
2. Yes, but you have to register with a province you are living in(planing to live) and for that you have to complete their requirements - like English. Yes, I was told it's possible to get paid position, but the close you to getting your license is the better.
3. I don't know, suit yourself

I found a nice set of questions I believe would be helpful for preparing for the MSQ. Is any one interested?

Questions which I think are really similar to ones we were given as sample questions are here: http://ww.bcpharmacists.org/professi.../KA_Sample.pdf
Answers are on the last page.
Also I would recommend this site: Programs available
it's a good tutorial.
And what about TC - it's available now. You can order it .

Hi Jane,
I checked about TC but still it is not avaliable.
I like this question, in terms of consultation I inform to patient it may cause nausea, vomiting, constipation and drowsiness. Not to drive after taking your dose particularly for few days. I definatly check either patient is not Asthamatic and if it so check inhaler dose and mention it may cause respiratory depression. I advice him to buy laxative like senna.
Question: How do you manage paracetamol poisoning?
