For the state of North Carolina - Under North Carolina Law, an individual with a BS in Pharmacy may work as an intern without having passed the FPGEE. All interns seeking practical pharmacy experience must register with Board’s internship program using forms provided by the Board.

This is not written on the NC Board of Pharmacy website but it is true.... In this state, you do not need an approval to begin your internship. What you need to do is
1. Seek employment in the pharmacy
2. After you are hired you may contact the board and receive the internship hours' form which will be filled and signed by your preceptor/supervisor.


For the state of Maryland, Foreign graduate pharmacist candidates may earn internship hours before completing the FPGEE examination. You do not need an intern license to start working as an intern in this state.

What you need to do is
1. Seek employment in the pharmacy
2. After you are hired you may contact the board and receive the internship hours' form (this is also available online at the board's website). After you complete your internship hours, the form will be filled, signed & notarized by your preceptor/supervisor. Easy?
