Friends,
It is not possible to compare US and Canada because they have different advantages. It is definitely easier in the US to get work, get paid more and .......get sued more. Also less taxes but you have to buy medical insurance for your entire family whose premiums keep going up the more you use it. Canada has much tougher exams, many who cannot pass go to the US, more taxes but free medical aid/hospitals/doctors. But here the choice is between getting a visa and both countries are relatively good places to stay in. Getting a visa is a very hard process. Ask the number of FPGEE takers from other countries. So get what you can easily get unless you are sure that you will get the US one if you apply. |

Also it is true that after getting PR, you have to wait 3 years before applying for citizenship which also takes a few months to get.
While on the PR, you can travel to the US on a visitor visa or H1 if you find work. If a citizen, you can freely travel as a tourist for 6 months and TN for work. By the end of 3 years you might choose canada. I have passed both FPGEE and Canada Evaluating Exam. I have to choose too. |

Hi,
I just wanted to share something in line with this topic. My cousin applied in an agency where she was given a sponsor to go to Canada. The agenct took care of the processing of her papers and visa. She took IELTS as it was their requirement and not TOEFL. She passed the exams and now she's been there for 2 years. It is a five-year contract with her employer. 1 to 2 years to go to a university sponsored by the employer to study before taking licensure examinations. It is true that it is a long process and she had to go through a lot of examinations, paper-based as well as oral exams. Last examination she took was like case study. It consists of 20 cases, you need to talk with patients, the patients will tell you what there illneses and what medications are they taking. You have to counsel the patients on their medications. I think it was really hard but good thing is she made it. I just wanted to share the experience so you might know as well if you like to pursue on being a pharmacist in Canada. Thanks and God Bless! |

Hi Folks
I was in gulf..Moved to Canada on PR... about to get citizenship in a month.. and i am at the border (windsor)...You know what let me tell you..Grass on the otherside is always greener... but for me the bottom line is as long as you earn a good salary.. it doesnt matter where you stay.. either in US or Canada...US have their own problems and Canada has their own problems.. Do not look for short term happiness and Long term trouble...Look the other way round and make a decision... Well ..in either case there is a Risk.. and risk gives rewards for the brave! Hope that helps! Regards Murthy |
