Hi all,

I am a foreign educated pharmacist. I have received FPGEE certificate,and I am looking for a sponsor for H1 visa.
I emailed CVS ,but they told me that I have to recontact them in March.
Do you think it is too late to start to send resume in March? As I understood that you have to cotact pharmacy chains in Jan.so you could have time to find a sponsor ,and -if accepted-have time to prepare necessary documents to apply them by April 1st.

Please someone explains the process to me.
And, when is the best time to try to contact pharmacies?

You can start contacting Rite Aid in November. When I contacted them during my application process, they replied to me at that time. Contact Walgreens in 1st week of Jan. CVS replied to me only in March. I don't know about other pharmacy chains. Hope this information helps..All the best.

Please tell me the steps you took to get that job. Did you just send your resume? Or you sent a defficiency letter? Did they call you for an interview? I am trying to get a sponsor and this information will be very helpful to me.
Please tell me about the whole process.

Choose the states in which you will be interested to pursue your internship and obtain the intern license from those States' board of pharmacy. Having obtained the FPGEC, you might be able to straight away obtain the license instead of deficiency letter. Sending resume to the different pharmacy chains international coordinator is the next step. If the coordinator is interested, he/she is going to ask you for more documents and city/state in which you are interested to work in. If everything goes well and based on availability of positions, the district manager will conduct a interview over phone/in-person and give you an employment offer if satisfied. However, there are so many ifs and buts in the entire process - so one's luck (especially the H1 part) also matters a lot!!

I'm an international pharmacist .I 've deficiency letter from florida board. I have to clear TOEFL IBT. Walgreens asked me to contact in Jan. Could you please tell me what all documents do Walgreens' need and also for visa apllication? Thank you very much.

Don't worry about that now. The International coordinator is going to send you a list of the name of all documents what the company needs to recruit you in January, once you contact them. It will range from passport to all your Pharmacy school credentials. You will have enough time to collect and send it to them.

HI all,

I am a foreign pharmacy graduate too. i am yet to pass Toefl IBT. i have arizona state license from 2005, rules have changed in 2006 that they need FPGEC for intern license. Recently, a recruiter from Albertsons called me and said they can offer me internship in arizona even when i mentioned that i donot have FPGEC yet. any one on this forum have had similar experince or heard of it.
also, the recruiter's name is Tahara. any body know that person? please let me know.
