Hi everyone, I am a German pharmacist (graduation 12/2006), who would like to live and work in Florida. I passed the TOEFL ibt and the FPGEE in June and received my FPGEC certificate a few weeks ago. Furthermore, I found an employer from an independent pharmacy for the upcoming internship. At this point my problem begins. Unfortunately, my employer does not have any experience with foreign graduate interns, therefore both of us are helpless when it comes to the Visa question. Is anyone out there in my situation or willing to help me? I would be thankful for every little hint in this matter! I heard about problems with the H-1b this year (too many applicants). If I would apply for it (over my employer), which "prevailing wage" and which supporting documentation would be needed? Could anyone tell me exactly how to apply for it? How long would it take to be approved? Should I employ a specialised attorney and if so, can anyone recommend one? Do I have any other alternatives? Maybe a J-1 Visa? I have been on a J-1 at the University of FL as a short-term scholar from Oct 2005 to March 2006, but an agency told me the J-1 is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I do not know anyone in my situation, thus, I would be very, very grateful for any kind of help. Thank you in advance! ![]() |
