Hey colleagues, I have a question for those who are interns after the new Michigan board of pharmacy policy in june 2007.
Do we have to get the certificate prior to getting the limited license or is it enough to send them the overall score of TOEFl iBt to get this license to start internship because that would give us some time to practice as interns while we prepare and do the TOEFL speaking section million times while we are interns until we get the god damn 26
I didn't understand the new june 2007 Michigan Board Act that " all foreign graduates from non ACPE accredited programs sending applications after june 2007 should successfully complete the FPGEC certification program", does that mean we should send the certificate to get limited licence or is it to sit for NAPLEX which require the completion of the FPGEC certification program.
I hope someone can give some useful informations about it, cause last time i called the Michigan Board, they said: We don't need your TOEFL iBT scores, we want the certificate.

For those who apply for MI Internship after June 2007, you need the FPGEC certificate to take NAPLEX. I am not sure about getting Internship license.

Thank you knok, it's really encouraging if they approved my limited license at least for now so I can start doing my hours and then I can take care of the Toefl while doing that.
It's really frustrating to do the Toefl over and over again without achieving the 26 or the intern licence.
Anyway I appreciate your reply and I hope that what you've said is regarding the NAPLEX not the intern licence.
All I have to do is wait and pray till they process my application and then we'll see what will happen.

There are many states that you can do internship without the FPGEC certificate. Let me know about the result of your application in MI. I can't remember whether MI board requires the FPGEC certificate before getting Internship license or not.

However, please do not lose hope if you cannot get a score of 26 on speaking. There are many states that foreign pharmacists walked in to see their state board of pharmacy and explained the bad situation and how unfair the TOEFL iBT provides to test takers. Some state boards listened and tried to find other speaking test to subsitute iBT. Remember that we all can do together in many ways, not only writing a letter, but also walking and talking to the state board, governor, legislators and other people involved in the process by providing facts and data to them.

I am doing my part too.

Thank you for your reply Knok, I'll keep you posted when I receive any letter from the board. I don't know whether to look for another state or stay in MI because it's really frustrating when they keep asking for the iBT speaking 26 score, and I don't think there is an alternative exam for it so far.
I guess we are not as lucky as those who did the Toefl CBT and finished everything already, practicing and enjoying their lives this very moment.

Hi Me too don't have FPGEC but I got my intern license a year ago. Dose it need the FPGEC to take NAPLEX exam?
