Ninah you have any 5th year programme of pharm D in UK anywhere, as I never came to know about any such thing there ...Ninah when did you graduate from your univ ... was it before 2003 or after it ???

Simi
I really hope that they will send you some good news,I will pray for you.I graduated before 2003,however most universities in UK have now changed to 5 years program,as you know in UK you also have to do 2 years of A'levels which also counts as higher education, but I still think what they have done in your case is so unfair. Good luck |

Thank you LH for your concern and best wishes ...
You know I am still looking foward to the final response from NABP ... and if they want me to take a 5th year of condense course after b.pharm to upgrade my degree and then to take both of FPGEE & toefl ibt again .. then screw them .. as I would prefer starting the procedure for some other country than USA. As USA would be not worth to waste more time for ... u know how unpredictable the H-1b visa process is and how unpredictable it would be after 2 or 3 years ( even after completeing all their demands). They are not accepting the M.phil ( 2 year after pharmacy graduation ) although my stance is valid .. they are inconsiderate and rude ...I have even lost my charm and attraction for doing job here in USA. |

hey Nina,
I was wondering why most of the Bitish pharmacy graduates wanna shift to usa ??? do you personally think that there is a saturation in the Pharmacy setup in UK ? even if some wanna work there with Boots dont you think that there is enough space for them to accomodate more people ??? It's just a question arising in my mind ... I hope you don't mind answering ... |

You must get help from lawyers. Don't wait. Good luck.

Facts: Be sure to pass all sections of TOEFL iBT (R21, L18, S26*,W24) before applying for FPGEE. Thousands of candidates passed FPGEE but could not achieve TOEFL requirement after several attempts. Percent passing rate on the speaking section is only 10 percent. (http://www.ets.org/Media/Tests/TOEFL...mmary_2008.pdf, page 5) The average score on the speaking section of the US candidates is 22 and candidates from English speaking countries is 23 (http://www.ets.org/Media/Tests/TOEFL...mmary_2008.pdf, p. 9-10.) Would you like to see changes? Cilck here ->http://www.aetr.org/index.php to file TOEFL reform

You know even lawer might not be of any help ...
as their bullitain says that at the time of graduation the pharmacy education should be 5 year.So if they were considering the higer secondary education as 1 year before objection .... and now don't consider it then .. its going to shake my position.Plus the m.phil I did was POST-GRADUATION .. not a part of graduation ... so i have to find some win-win negotiation. Thats the best strategy in this condition.Lets hope for the best simi |

Hi Simi,
I know you are going through a hard time but hang in there and hopefully you will get a good result. I also agree with Knock, you should get a lawyer,I think you should base your argument on the fact that they have allowed you to take the exam, you have an acceptance letter,do not you? Regarding your question with British Pharmacist,to tell you the truth none of my friends will want to come here. There are so many jobs for pharmacist in Uk and they all pay well, like $60/hour.The reason I moved here was because of my husband,I would not even think about coimg here to take the exam and take all these crap from NABP. I used to work in a great company ,easy 9-6 ,no weekends, now here I have to do shifts, work till 10pm some times and do every other saturday. Can you work in UK ?or do you have to take an exam there? There is a big shortage of Pharmacist there. Last edited by knok : 2008 March 9th at 07:52 AM. |
