Hey ninah,
hi, sorry *a late reply.I finally got the decision from FPGEC ( what you can call a win-win negotiation). They have given me an option to complete the remaining requirement of FPGEC within next 3 years ( which is- 5th year pharmacy at the time of graduation ), this simply means that I have to go back to my home country and do 5th year pharmD course after 4th year of B.pharmacy.Secondly, they are not going to close my application, that simply means that my FPGEE & Toefl ibt scores are going to be accepted for next 3 years. Infact, there is some thing important on the letter which indicated that * have passed the FPGEE exam .. that stated that * just need to pass the toefl ibt which required score after the FPGEE + IF I MEET ALL THE REQUIREMTS OF THE CERTIFICATION then they will give me the certificate ... that condition of 5 year pharmacy ( AT THE TIME OF GRADUATION) is clearly written in the FPGEC bullitain ... so there is no way I can contest them even with the help of a lawyer. Secondly, Yes I can work in UK, as i have been working with Boots for nearly 10 months .. However, the system of RSPGB is quite lengthy, in addition they need foreign pharmacist to take a course of OSPAP ( 1 year ) starting every sept ... after successful completeing of document and candidate evaluation. Then 1 year of pre-reg training, it would have been acceptable if I started that process straight after my graduation .. but now I think I am almost half way down to usa registration and I dont wanna lose everything what I woked for by now ..so I think I should do 1 year pharm D course starting in 2008.Lets hope for the best. Hi Simi,
Happy new year! Also, glad to hear that FPGEC now give you other options. About the other courses that you need to finish, can you take some courses in USA? Couple years ago, I have heard that University of Florida is offering Pharmacy program for international pharmacy graduates. Since foreign pharmacy graduates already have pharmacy education background, they finish this UF pharmacy program very quickly. Is there anyway you can do this? You might even finish faster. You can also work as pharmacy intern at the same time. Moreover, do you need to take TOEFL iBT again? I remember you've passed both exams. Anyway, GOOD LUCK and I'll let you know me result later. Happy New Year to Nina, Knok and other Testmagic members! LH |

Dear LH,
thn* **wishes for the new year ... Happy new year to * and NINA ... well yes **** right about the Nova university in florida ... but in fact that is a 2.5 year course and the fee's are going to be really high ...so what * am thinking at this point is that my generic univ is offering 1 year programme plus it is economical and effective in a way that * can prepare better for NABPLEX in my home conuntry ... regarding internship... for that * still need some visa or some thing so * not to do it after I come back as a complete pharmacy graduate with a 5 year degree .. as * see there is a significant difference in the pay of pharmacy intern of different years(during their study programme), best they get paid when they have completed their graduation ... *there are other reasons too ... like * have booked my flight back to my country as well ..so * don*t *** change my plan anymore ... best of luck to * too LH .... what did they say about ur file and examinations ? what did the NABP guided * for the future to complete certification ??? oh yes !!! * need to take the toefl to get admission in univ of usa too ... *** right ... so best of luck for ** case ... what did * find out .. is there any 5th year in china so far ? Email and textese deleted by moderator. kindly do send me * e-mail add ...so that * can stay in touch ... *** buddy Best wishes for the new year. simi Quote:

Hello!
I wonder how such mistake was committed by NABP. I believe such decision should have been done before allowing you to sit for the FPGE. i have couple of questions to you. Did this happen only to you or also to someone who graduated from the same school of pharmacy you graduated from? Did you check with the international educational evaluators to learn if your school is accredited here in the USA? having such infomation may help you to confidently challenge the NABP. Good luck. I hope everything will be fine. |

Hi Simi,
I just sent you a message. I'll be out of town next Mon. & Tues and will not check online until next Wed. For Gideyam, I agree with you. Actually, I was approved to sit for exam. In the letter from FPGEC, they said I was "qualified" to take the exam. I still have this letter. Unfortunately, by now, I have not heard any similar situation happened on other graduates from my university. While the point is, most Alumni I know are not in the final stage yet. LH |
