Question about pharm. technician exam book

Hi everyone,

I am one of the victims of TOEFL-IBT. I am still waiting for 26 in speaking and wasting my time and money.

so I have decided to take Technician test of PTCB, I am in LA. Now my question is about the material or books. Which is the best book for tech test? I have less than 2 months for the preparation.

I would appreciate prompt reply.

Thanks.

Hi Penie,
These are the books that I used to prepare for the Pharm.Tech. exam
I brought them from the Amazon

Title : Reference Guide For PharmacyTechnician Exam (PTCE)
Author : Manan H Shroff
Edition : Second Revised-edition 2003-2004
ISBN: 0-9707931-8-9
Description : Approximately 500 questions with answers

Title : Manual For Pharmacy Technicians
Publisher : American Society of Health-System Pharmacists

Paperback : 444 pages
Edition: 3Rev Ed edition(January 2004)
ISBN-10: 1585280909
ISBN-13: 978-1585280902

But the license is not enough for the technician job ,, you must be well trained in typing (at least 30 words per minute)
GOOD LUCK.

Hi habo,

Thank you very much for your reply. About the Manan shrof book when I checked the image on amazon it says vol. 1, so does it have more than one book volume for PTCB exam?

Thanks for informing me about typing speed. Currently, I am working as a clerk in the pharmacy. I do type prescriptions. I have not excellent but good enough typing speed, but I will keep that in my mind.

Thanks agian.

It is only one volume, no more book volume
Concerning the exam , it is mainly in :
-the calculations of the quantity to be dispensed from the directions that are written by the doctor,
-the abbreviations that are used by the doctors to write the instructions for medication use,
-drug information resources,
-general pharmacy ethics & laws (including controlled drugs),
-top 100 medications (brand & generic) in USA
GOOD LUCK
