I am new member and just thinking to be a pharmacist in Orange county, CA
Hello Everybody,
I am Asian and thinking to be a pharmacist in Orange County, CA. I would like to know how our career over there is include the role and salary to make sure that I am making the right decision. I have been OC and USA only 1 time. Now I am preparing myself about testing toefl iBT in my country first and then FPGEE. I don't know how long to prepare for both. And June or Dec for FPGEE is better. (English is not my native language and my listening is poor.) Please anyone who see my thread give me opinions. Thank you very much and I encourage myself to be successful. Wish the best for all of you, friends. ![]() |

Hello Jintai!
I appreciate your zeal towards becoming a pharmacist in USA.First you concentrate on passing FPGEE and getting through Toefl ibt. Once you are done with these exams and then you can think where to apply for jobs? Let me tell you that orange county is a very good place to work. Work hard and all the very best for your future plans. |

Hi Nasir13,
I'm in CA too in the Riverside county. I remember you posting that you were waiting for FPGEE results. I guess that you've passed. How about TOEFLibt? I'm done with both and also received the FPGEC. I had a question that - can we apply to the pharmacies directly after getting the FPGEC or we have to apply for the Intern License first? Thank You |

Hello safal,
I am still waiting for my result.Actually they resend my score report on Wednesday so, probably i will be getting it by today.Coming to applying for jobs i heard from my pharmacist friends that first we need to apply for intern license and at the same time we can approach to different employers with fpgec. It may take days or months to get the offer letter.By that time hopefully we will get the intern license and then the employer can go ahead and apply for H1.we need intern license and offer letter to apply for H1 sponsorship. This is all i know safal.By the way i live in San bernardino.Hope this little information help you. Hello Jintai, Good to hear from you.If you need any help let us know .we all are here to help you out. |

Hi Nasir13,
Thanks for your info. Actually I'm on TD visa and waiting for someone to offer job, with the offer letter, need to get TN visa. Are you sure you also need Intern license with the offer letter to apply for the status-bec. only after they give you H1 or TN status, then you get a SSN and only after that you can fill out the Intern License form wherein they ask for SSN? And about your results-be positive everything will be fine. You are right we all should help out each other and share the info. Thanks again |
