Pharmacy Internship in CA
Hi! I am new here. I am on a permanent resident status living here in CA and I just passed the Fpgee last Dec. 2007. I have some important matter to take care of back in my country so I couldn;t take the TOEFL until may of this year.
My question is how long does nabp release the certificate once I passed the toefl? Does anyone know the different benefits the pharmacy chains offer? which is the best pharmacy chain to do the internship? Is there a sign up bonuses too for internship? Thanks in advance for all who would reply! |

Hello,
I think it depends on the company. Some companies offer sign on bonuses to people while others don't. it all depends on your negotiations with them but typically sign on bonuses are offered after you complet the internship period. |

After you receive your toefl score (as per the nabp requirements) it takes about 4-6 weeks to get your fpgec , and if you apply if ASAP to CA board , they will issue your license within 4-5 weeks.(this is an ideal case ).
In CA, (if you are a PR) they offer from $26-35 as a grad intern depending on the city you want to go. Pay in north CA is more than SoCal. But they want a agreement from you that when you will become a pharmacist you have to work for the same chain for at least 1-2 yrs and of course they offer up to $20,000 sign on amount and pay is most likely double of the intern pay. I mean 52-62/hr. |

Hi RX,
Thanks for the info regarding the time line for FPGEC certificate issuance and intern permit. I just cleared the iBT and waiting for the certificate. In the meanwhile, I am preparing my resume for internship application. I would really appreciate if you could give me some ideas for preparing the same. Thanks a bunch! |

Hi. I just got my FPGEC and am now planning to send out an application for internship. I am on a tourist visa here in SoCal. I checked the Board of Pharmacy website and it says there I need to have a SSN, which, obviously I dont. I called them and the lady who answered said, if I dont have it, then I can leave that space blank. I'm not sure which is which now. And can I just send them a copy of my FPGEC certificate?

Hi Xtinch,
It clearly states in the internship application form that they require a written verification from the FPGEC that you have obtained the certificate , along with a copy of your FPGEC certificate. Good luck with the application Lifekm |

Hi TSEPREP!
How is your CA intern license application? Send me private message when you have the chance. I am also interested in doing my internship there in CA but don't have any idea where to start and how. God bless everyone! |
