CVS interview
Hi everybody,
I have an interview next week with CVS for an intern position. It is my first interview in the US so I am not sure what to expect. I am in a suburb north of Boston. If anybody can help with going wages for intern and pharmacist, as well as benefits or work conditions, I would really appreciate. Is it a good company to work for? Most threads seem to discuss more Walgreen and Rite Aid. Thanks for the help!! ![]() Last edited by knok : 03-01-2008 at 09:02 PM. Reason: cvs |

Hi Pikatchou,
I know that CVS is very unfair with salary, at least for pharmacist. You have to learn how to negotiate. My friend, who is a pharmacist, was offered only $ 44/hrs. Also, she was told that this rate is not negotiable. At the same time her friend received an offer $ 52/hrs. I don't know about intern's payment in CVS. However, according to pharmacist's salary I think that it's also unfair. People who came to work for CVS later have a higher rate than old employees. If you don't have any other offers than go for CVS. Good luck |

Hi Picatchou,
What about Target? I know that Target pays OK. In fact, annual pharmacist's salary is 10 000 more than any other pharmacy net. Moreover, employees have 10% discount on each purchase. I know that CVS also has similar discount. I belief it's 20% each purchase and they have employee day once per month with 30 % off. I know that you are probably prefer to get a higher rate than a discount but sometimes we really don't have much choice. View it as temporary inconvenience. Safeway has low salary rate for technicians and interns. However, pharmacists get payed OK. I don't know about Wal-mart for sure, but someone posted that they pay $25/hrs for graduated intern. |

Thank you again Laura.pharm, the information you gave me is very helpful. Sometimes location and other benefits that can help conciliate family and work life can compensate for salary. Anybody knows about bonuses and contracts? Is the salary higher if you work only evenings and week end?

Almost all the chains I've contacted (RiteAid, Walmart, CVS, etc...) responded that they have NO positions for interns in the LA area (I already have my intern license and I do not need a visa).
The only interview I've got is with Ralphs (tomorrow) and I would truly appreciate any tips to how can I prepare for it ? What questions should I expect ? THANK YOU ! |
