Hi ninah,
Try other stores. You will get it, probably better than this one. If they don't keep their words, why do you want to work with them. Actually, computer system in Walgreens is better than any chains. You will learn more from Walgreens, even though, in some stores, the work load is high. ![]() Good luck. ![]() Knok

Hi Ninah. Cheer up! Like knok said, you don't want to work with a manager who's not very professional. As I've observed, CVS pays the least, interns learn the least and works you out the most. It may be different in every store as this can also be attributed to personality. You may not get the 5-minute working distance but you may find a better one that will make your travel more exciting.

Yes, I'm currently working as an intern at Walmart. When I was looking for a place to do my internship, CVS was the first one to contact me. I almost took it because I didn't know rates and I was worried I might let go of an only opportunity. I took time anyway and I 'm glad I did. CVS offered me a rate less than $10 while Rite Aid and Walmart offered me about 3-4 times higher. Walgreens also called me for interview but it was 2 weeks after my interview with Walmart so I canceled it. I wish you good luck.

Did you check with Vons/Safeway?
The link I provide below has this information "We offer summer as well as annual internships in many of our pharmacies in the U.S. and Canada. Our pharmacists will help you train to be a future community practitioner. Select sites are also available for foreign pharmacists who have passed the FPGEE and have work authorization." link: http://shop.safeway.com/superstore/d...&page=corphome For the state of California, they have positions in Arcadia & Pleasanton. Try your luck if you live closeby If you've interest in Hospital Pharmacy you may check with 1. Kaiser Permanente - They've a couple of openings throughout the state link: Kaiser Permanente - Careers - Job Opportunities 2. Childrens' Hospital of LA link: HealthcareSource.com Best of luck Last edited by Trav : 03-10-2008 at 05:21 PM. |

Trav, Is that mean that Safeway doesn't require FPGEE certificate? ![]()

Almost all the chains I've contacted (RiteAid, Walmart, CVS, Walgreens,etc...) responded that they have NO positions for interns in the LA area. Is it because I've contacted only through e-mail ? Any suggestions?
The only interview I've got is with Ralphs (tomorrow) and I would truly appreciate any tips to how can I prepare for it ? What questions should I expect ? THANK YOU ALL ! Last edited by knok : 04-01-2008 at 08:13 PM. |
