Hello everyone.

It's nice to hear from all of you again after some time.

I think I am not alone in my continued search for opportunity after passing FPGEE. Now I believe seeking employment is even harder than I think.

I am currently outside US. So what should I do next? I hope to do my internship in CA. I already tried applying to pharmacy chains but to no avail.
Most of them do not sponsor at this time.

II check the website of CA Pharmacy Board. I says there that I have to apply for the CA Intern license. How should I do that while being outside US? The fingerprinting and Social Security Number?

Wouldn't I be able to have an employer first and from there fulfill all the necessary requirement for the CA Intern license.

I am slowly loosing hope. Don't know what to do next. Kindly give me some of thoughts regarding this.

Don't lose hope.Everything will be fine.I am also like you(currently outside US).I got sponsorship from 2 companies,but i am choosing one .Since i was willing to work anywhere in US i had more choices.

Here what i did.After getting fpgee certificate, i mailed to almost all the chains in US(top 30) and i got reply from walgreens,riteaid,supervalu(albertsons) and also an agency.They asked which place you willing to work.
Since i didn't had any particular choice i gave few states and they replied to me the states where vacancies are there.
Next step was procuring deficiency letters(for those who are not in US)
which are required by chains.I also contacted california board since one chain had vacancies there.They told me that,since i am not in US, I can take the finger print by pressing the finger in particular ink which is assigned for that .Also they sent me the instructions of how to take it and the paper on which it has to be taken.
Any way i didn't go for that b'cos after giving finger print and other documents it will take 10-12 weeks to issue the deficiency letter(refer california state board website) which will be too late for me apply for H1B this year.
Finally,i tried 6 other states and got deficiency letters from all of them and applied to these chains and got sponsorship from two.

Why i am writing this long reply is, it was a long and really hard work to pass toefl ibt(appeared 5 times and passed finally by GOD'S grace) and i know many people are there in this forum who are still working hard to pass this WEIRD exam.After that again it was really hard work for me and everyone to get a sponsor.Last two months i spent lot of money and time to get these deficiency letters and spent lot of time on internet for browsing.Still problems are there ahead whether will get selected in random pick up for H1B.

So i request you don't lose hope and every one in this forum has gone through all these steps and found successes

So maybe you can tell me where are you exactly now and which state you are going in soon? Did you get the sponsorship in a retail?

So how should I go about securing an intern license - kindly tell me more.

BE ENCOURAGED BECAUSE I PASSED THROUGH SIMILAR SITUATION AS JOHN PAUL123.LOCATED OUTSIDE U.S. AND HAVE HAD TO TAKE TOEFL ibt FOR LIKE FIVE TIMES BEFORE PASSING. ALSO GETTING A JOB AND SPONSORSHIP HAS TAKEN ABOUT TWO YEARS, BUT YOU NEED TO BE PERSISTENT AND KEEP ON CONTACTING THE RECRUITERS UNTIL YOU GET RESULTS. IT CAN BE QUITE FRUSTRATING AND YOU'LL SPEND A LOT OF TIME AND MONEY ON THE INTERNET AND APPLYING FOR DEFICIENCY LETTERS. BE ENCOURAGED!

I only got an offer letter and i have to be selected in H1B.So it's only in the beginning stage.If selected i will be in OHIO sponsered by a retail company.

For securing intern license,firstly many states like NC,NH,ME and also other states doesnot require intern license.
For those states which require intern license or deficiency letters(for those who doesn't have SSN) ,one have to download and fill the application and sent it to the state board along with fee draft.They will evaluate our eligiability and will send the deficiency letter within 3-4 weeks depending on the state.I hope this information will be helpful.
