Hello everyone,
today started nicely, after waiting 2 months for the FPGEC, it finally arrived. I was so happy that I finally made it but then I continued my search for an internship that I started already 2 months ago. And again only disappointment for me. It is always the same in this path: everytime that I am passing an obstacle and I think that everything will be alright next, a new obstacle even higher awaits me. I sent my resume and call every chains of pharmacy in the area and nobody is interested. I don't have strenght anymore I think I'm just going to give up and do anything else. All of this for nothing !Does anyone have any suggestion? Please help me. Fafy

I feel your pain but we need to be mentally ready to face our challenges today and the day to come. So, my friend, “Never give up!!! should be your motto.” Do not expect decisions in short time. Otherwise, the consequence will be costly to bear. From my experience, submitting resume is a means but not an end by itself. What I will advise you is that do not hesitate to demonstrate your interest by making repeated telephone calls and even pay them a physical visit. Try to make follow ups to learn the status of your application. That time, they may learn that you are highly interested to work with them and may start considering your application.
All for now but if you need any further information do not hesitate to contact me. Good luck with you search. Gideyam |

Thank you for your encouragement. I am actually visiting several pharmacies but everytime they are just giving me the phone number of their recruiter and when I try to call them they are not answering and are not calling back after I left several messages.
I hope I will be luckier soon.

Try hospitals. Let's think this way, "It is good to have a little break after a long battle. Then, you may have to work without stopping."
Good luck. ![]() Knok

Hi Fafy,
I would suggest, keep ringing the pharmacy supervisors. They will definitely call you back. From my experience I can tell you that pharmacies do need us. You may have to go little out of the main city. And believe me, you are still not in the worst condition. Think about those whom has to go through h1b sponsorship and lottery. We all worked so hard but still our fate is decided on these stupid h1 visas . And if one does not get visa this year, one has to wait till next year and if not next then wait for another year. So thank God that you do not have to go through all this. Do not think you are alone in this, you are not the only one who is struggling hard, i can assure you, every single one of us is going through same phase so what we need is lots and lots of perseverance and energy, and determination , that no matter what we will achieve our goal. All the best to you. |

Dear fafy,
you must know that you will not get immediate response, it takes time. When I was in Boston, I was able to work as intern with only the letter that I received from nabp telling me that I passed fpgee. I submit resume online and to the close pharmacies and called a lot of hospitals. After time I began to receive emails, phone calls but my problem was in finding a sponsor. But I did not struggle a lot as I and my husband took the discision to leave the state and I return Egypt and he moved to TX. My advice is to look in different cities and towns and submit your resume online such as on monster job.com .Do not lose hope. Mona Last edited by knok : 03-28-2008 at 08:46 PM. |

I also live in the Dallas area and just sent out my resume for a pharmacy technician position or just be a trainee, since I'm struggling with the speaking part of the TOEFL, already passed FPGEE. But after reading this I'm not sure I will get any response...

Thank you all for cheering me up.
I am trying to focus on the NAPLEX now. I've contacted several hospitals and already went door to door and every time they are giving the recruiter's phone number. I'll try to be more patient .Fafy
