Hi everyone,

How long did it take to get your passport back. I was told that my visa was approved but i have't got my passport back yet it's been a week. Is there any additional fee other than visa application fee?

Hi SINCE2008,

Which city did you have your interview?

In Manila, yes, you need to separately pay COURIER charges (appx $5) once you have been told your visa application has been approved. This payment is collected by and goes to the courier service but can be found within the embassy premises.

Hello Guys,
Congratulations for those who got their visas and way to go guys, we are almost their. I did not do my interview yet and have some problem of which I need your advice in. My passport is valid for only one year from now and my H1-Visa notice indicated a two and a half years period. It is quite difficult for me right now to renew my passport as I am not in my original country. I am a permanent resident in another country. Has any of you been asked to renew his passport or has any had his passport valid for one year and got the visa for more than that? I am really confused and don't know actually what to do guys? Another thing did any of you ask Rite Aid about the travel expenses? I heard about a compensation for travel and first month accommodations, I heard that they pay us a $2000 on arrival, any hints?

Once stamped your H1-Visa will be valid for two and half years even if your passport is valid only for one year. Your can renew your passport at your country's embassy in U.S. I am currently on F1 and my passport is valid until next year where as my visa is valid until 2012. So do not worry.
