H1B visa applicants for fiscal year 2009

Dera All,
I just need to know what is premium selection, and did any one hear about increasing the no. of approvals this year ,because i heared that they increased the no. last year to 115,000??

When you file for your H1, you have a choice to apply for premium processing (costs $1000 more than regular). USCIS will process those petitions within 15 days. The number of visas available is still 65,000+20,000 = 85,000. It was never increased to 115,000.

Hi all,
While not a pharmacist, we too have applied for the H-1B visa and are anxiously awaiting the result. Have not paid for premium processing. Lawyer has said that we should hear in June. It seems that the majority of applicants are for the IT sector.

Hey Guys, do you know when could we receive the result?

I checked the lawyer and they have no idea about it, they told me that probably we could only receive the results around May or June, that will be so late for me! I am stuck here and all my schedule is pending.....

Could you guys write about 1-2 paragraphs about the problems and suggest srelated to H-1B visa for pharmacists please? I am going to put in the letter to the board. We all have riden in the same boat for so long now, and then, we got stuck here in the Island due to the problem of the insufficient number of H-1B visa. It seems not to be fair for FPGEE candidates.

Americans are shouting about pharmacist shortages. The increasing number of prescriptions puts pressure on current pharmacists who work in the system. We need to represent ourselves and make our voices heard. Or can you send someone to our association to do about this issue please? (3-5 people are appreciate. We need to think as a team.) Who will volunteer to do this job?

I believe that they will be posting out the results in 8-10 weeks which takes us to around June time.
Its a long wait and difficult to make decisions about the other areas of relocating like property sales and purchases and schools for children etc.
I think it would have been a lot fairer if they allocated percentages of the cap for individual professions.

So far, only 2 people have got some news about h1b recepits. ONe is Rxach and other is ana123. Anybody else saw lady luck?

Apart from rxach and ana123, anybody else has got a receipt or an approval? rxach has just got 'approval' also. Both these are from Albertsons premium processing.

I'm also waiting for some good news from the company's lawyer.I was sponsored by Walgreen filed as Premium Processing.

Anybody who is in the same situation as me?

Those who were sponsored by Walgreen, did you get any news so far?

Last year, the lottery was done on the 12th and people got receiving notice from lawyers by the 20th (eight days of difference).However, this year we are on the 10th day gap from the lottery and still nobody knows nothing except from people from Albertsons.

I know about seven people who have got receipt number. Out of them 3 have already got approval.They all have done primium through Indian consultancy companies. I also did primuim and applied for masters cap but no news as yet.
