The next steps should be if your case is under normal processing then it should take like 6-8 weeks to get approval of your H1B Petition from the date your case is picked up. Once your petition is approved then you have to take an appointment at U S Consulate with all your documents and certificates (Your Company or Attorney will guide you) and if you succeed there then you should get H1B Stamped in 5-7 business days.

I guess you have been picked up in lotto. It will take some time to know officially from USCIS your receipt no. as they are slow or as per the load they have. You can take some fresh air now.

I believe that notification of an applicatin being picked for the lottery is not a final acceptance. It means that you are one of the lucky ones who will then be processed IF all your paperwork and your job offer conforms to the regualtions. Obviously if yours has been returned then you have no chance at all. So definitely a poistive if you get picked.

Had this correspondance a while back from the law firm we used...

We will most likely know by the end of April if your case is selected in the visa lottery. Then it goes to adjudication. These will be accomplished on a rolling basis. Last year we received answers throughout the summer. If you want to get the earliest possible answer, you can pay for premium processing ($1,000) and once your case is selected for the lottery, you will have an answer in 2 weeks.

I am from China, waiting for H1B notification same as you guys. Here are some latest news on the estimated last date of notifications.

California Service Center: 15 Jun 08
Vermont Service Center: 2 Jun 08
By 10 May 08, Nebraska Service Center and Texas Service Center have sent all the notifications.

Please enjoy this period of time and check which service center your applications are sent to.

My company had applied with the premium processing option. I have still not heard. It is way past 14 business days past the lottery. Is my case in trouble?

I think you need to check with your lawyer which service center your case is belonged to.

I guess premium case would be processed earlier after the lottery, then followed by normal case. Otherwise it does not make sense to charge U$1000 more for such a service.
