Transfer from another degree to Pharmacy
Hi Guys
I have a friend who has just moved to US and is thinking of studying Pharmacy,she has a Biology degree back home and she is wondering where she can apply for Pharmacy here in California? Any ideas will be appreciated. |

USC is the one that your friend could think about. Although the tuition is very high, the acceptance rate for international student is pretty good among other pharmacy schools. Most of the pharmacy schools require PCAT and, often, the courses she has taken at the other country will not be transferable. If she needs F-1 visa to study here, keep in mind that state universities tend not to accept international students. This information is based on the data I collected about five years ago.

The answer is YES provided that:
- you work at the university hospital/pharmacy, if your university happens to have the hospital/pharmacy - you work off campus, if the location is educationally affiliated with the school - you work off campus with no strings attached, if you get USCIS authorization based on serious financial difficulties.
