My H1B visa was successfully stamped a couple of days ago, along with my spouse's and kids H4
It was a very simple affair, with 5 direct questions and then the visa was issued: Is this your first h1b? Which company are you currently working for? What is your hightest degree? What will be working as with Rite Aid? Which area is Rite Aid posting you in? Any of you guys with doubts about filling up the DS 156, 157 or have doubts about H4 visas.. let me know. Thanks to all of you for your help and co-operation during this time! I also with the very best to you all! |

Hi guys! Can someone help me on my application for internship? I am from the Philippines. But I am still staying here in the US. I know that most of you here are already on their way to rite aid. What did you do to be accepted in rite aid? I just sent an email to walgreens but they said, they can not help me on that because of Philippine overseas employment agency requirements. I do not fully understand that. I am really confused on what to do next after receiving my FPGEC certificate. Please help me! thanks in advance!

Hi c12,
1st have you just received your FPGEC? Thing is, for foreign pharmacists, recruitment generally starts 1st quarter of the year (January-March). Re POEA: yes, thats a very sad thing that shuns most employers(not just Walgreens, but other companies from other countries as well). Try writing the companies again 1st quarter next year. That will give you the possibility of being able to start working October 2009. In the meantime, if you still don't have Internship License on the particular state/s you wish to work in, I suggest you start working on that. Companies will be looking for those, together with your FPGECertificate. Congratulations on receiving your certificate and goodluck! |

Hello everyone,
First of all Congratulations to all the guys that got their H1b-visa . I have passed my FPGEE , but didn't receive my certicate until July 2008 so wasn't able to apply for internship this year. I have several questions to you guys : 1.- Shall I contact the pharmacy chains now or it is better to wait till January 2009? 2.- Did you choose in which state you want to do your internship or they assigned the state according to the vacancies? 3.- Are the interviews conducted over the phone? I will be waiting for your reply. Thank you in advance. ![]() ![]() Last edited by knok : 09-03-2008 at 09:38 PM. |

Hi AphA,
I am a pharmacist living outside the US. I got my FPGEC last July and will start contacting some pharmacy chains in January 2009. You said :"In the meantime, if you still don't have Internship License on the particular state/s you wish to work in, I suggest you start working on that. Companies will be looking for those, together with your FPGECertificate." My question is : How will I be able to get an Internship License if I don't reside in the US ? I heard that in order to apply for an Intersnship License I need to have a SSN, which in turn means that I should be a permanent or temporary resident in the US or have a work permit. Which comes first the H1b-Visa, then work permit and at last the Internship License or should I have the Internship License first? I am terribly confused. I hope you can clarify this matter. Thanks in advance. |

Hi karmina,
You heard it right. You need to have SSN to get an Internship Licence BUT... you can get a DEFICIENCY LETTER instead. This deficiency letter will be issued to you by the State BOP (Board of Pharmacy) where you wish to work. Most state BOPs issue this deficiency letter. For foreign pharmacists like us, it is this deficiency letter (which primarily states you don't have SSN and hence cannot be issued an Internship License) from the state BOP that companies look for, together with your FPGEC and resume. Hope to have helped! what you can do is apply with your parti |
