Thanks, tsetaker for the link to slides of pharmacist shortage. We can forward the URL to state boards of pharmacy, chain drugstores, hospital, NABP, local and foreign media. Hello guys!
First, I would like to thank you, especially "Knock", for the hard efforts you are doing to remove this injustice we face. Second, I have a point that we could discuss with NAPB if we will get the chance to talk with them in the future. My point is I think that TOEFL is not a real measurement for our abililty to deal with patients in pharmacies. TOEFL in fact is done for those who are hoping to continue their study in USA. So that, we find the test full of academic lectures and conversation that could happen within a campus..etc. It is not fair to judge our ability to communicate with customers with this unreasonable test. Instead, we should suggest that NAPB look for an alternative test that tests the ability to speak the english of the real life, not the english that concerns with the acadmic and universities life. As a matter of fact, we are customers of NABP. We pay $700 for the certificate program. We all are professionals. NABP officials are very nice and polite. However, we need to act professinally as well.
We contact NABP from time to time in several ways. Every party contacted NABP for us. We won't post it here. Some information should not be disclosed in public. NABP is listening. Believe me!  We all have the same occupation, pharmacists. There is no reason that NABP will not listen. If we don't do anything but expect things to change, forget it. I am not a big believer in magic. We need action and conversation about causes and effects. Please think strategically if you want to survive. Nurses organized their group and talked to the board. Doctor board eliminated TOEFL completely. I consider our profession not inferior to nurses and doctors. We just need spirit and helping hands. In the end, let me say this again. We need your cooperation.
