Very good job indeed, I hope everything goes well with this issue.
I think it would also be better to add that the 5 year academic curriculum requirement is also very flawed. People who graduated from Australian and New Zealand pharmacy schools are not eligible to take the FPGEE because their 1 year intern year(which is required for licensure) after graduation is not recognized, but for those who have intern year within the academic curriculum before graduation is counted toward the 5 years. Certainly the NABP cares more about quantity than quality and whether the country itself has strictly five years or not, not(?) considering personal circumstances. |

Knok,
Very good and hard work.I feel it would be better if you can show the registration process comparison between nurses and pharmacist .For Nurses, they have only two exams. For pharmacists, FPGEC +Toefl ibt+ Naplex+State law+ additional exam(states like CT) and the long internship then the waiting period for GC(may be 10yrs). sarah |

Hello friends,
As all pharmacists know that we are in EB3 category eventhough there is a huge shortage of pharmacists and now Pharm D. is required to get pharmcist license which is equivalent to Ph. D.(we have already proved that we are equivalent to pharmD by clearing FPGEE,TSE and TOEFL, 1500 hrs. internship,NAPLEX and MPJE) a fellow pharmacist wrote a letter to CIS Ombudsman and this was the reply he received from their office. I would request every pharmcist and prospective pharmacist on this forum to write a letter to them and request them to change us from EB3 to EB1 or EB2. It will be very helpful for our future and present pharmacists. This is the email address he wrote them to CISOmbudsman.Publicaffairs@dhs.gov This was the response i received from the Ombudsman office. Thank you for your recent correspondence to the Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman (CIS Ombudsman). I appreciate your suggestion regarding the EB category for pharmacists. We understand your concern with the shortage of pharmacists and nurses and are looking into this issue. Under the authority of the Homeland Security Act of 2002, the CIS Ombudsman assists individuals and employers who experience specific problems during the USCIS benefits seeking process, largely to identify problems and to formulate recommendations to improve the USCIS service. Please see our website for more information (www.dhs.gov/cisombudsman/). I believe that first hand information from individuals like you is the best source for identifying systemic problems in the immigration benefits process. My office will consider the information you provided as we develop recommendations to improve USCIS’ practices and procedures. Once again, thank you for taking the time to contact my office. Your contribution helps so much. Sincerely, CIS Ombudsman |
