Hi guys,
Can I obtain my internship hours by volunteering?

I am on F1 visa (student visa). Will the state board report such persons to the immigration office? Someone told me that international students can volunteer their services as long as it is a non paying internship position. How true is that? Please advice.

No you cant! Any form of Voluntary work is illegal on F1 visa. One of my friends was going through the same dilemma. The college authorities told him that it is illegal to do any voluntary work on F1

Hello Ipasstoeflibt,
Why you want to work voluntarily when you can work with pay. You can opt for either OPT or CPT.

Can someone please tell me whether technicians hours count towards internship?I have asked the Florida health board this but have not got an answer.I understand that 500 hours have to be under a preceptor so what about the balance of the hours?Also,can C.E points count towards internshiphours?
