Arrow Next step after being picked in the lottery

Hi everyone,

I already have my H1B notice receipt. I have a couple of questions though:

1. When I used the number given to check my status online, it says "Case received and pending." What does this mean?

2. What will be the next steps and the time lines for those?

3. When would we more or less get our actual approval [if approved] and our visas stamped? I tried to look at the USCIS website but the timelines link doesn't seem to be really useful.

Can anyone enlighten us please?

If anyone has any ideas, questions or concerns after being picked in the lottery and awaiting stamping/finally being allowed to work in the US, please feel free to post.

I am interested to know more about what will happen after being selected and what are the criteria for processing if any one could inform me with any tips about it, I would be grateful.

Hi APhA.. The next step after being picked in the lottery is, unfortunately, to WAIT!! But thankfully, this is more of a peaceful wait. The status online in most of our cases will be 'case recieved ane pending' until USCIS 'approves' our cases. Sometimes, USCIS would have approved our case, but the online status might still remain the same 'case recieved ane pending'. So this might not be of much help.

During this waiting time, not much that we can do, except for planning for relocation. Check out APhA's post on this.. Very useful:

http://www.urch.com/forums/pharmacy-...tml#post585985 (H1B Living expenses and Accommodation)

The actual timelines may vary, but I presume the approval would take a minmum of 1 month from the receipt date, to even 2 months or so. Could be earlier as well. Since most of us are sponsored by good Rx chains, we should not have a probelem at approvals or visa stamping.

Once USCIS sends the approval notice (I-797), the sponsor company would send the I-797, I-129, LCA and all other documents by mail (snail mail) or courier to us. We take these documents along with whatever is required for the visa stamping. Visa stamping depends on where you are at present. If you are outside the US, then you need to go to the US consulate/embassy near to your place of residence.

Once the visa stamping is done, bid adeus to your folks and take a long haul one-way flight to the US!!! Cheers!!

This one too: H1B visa interview Sample Questions, H1B stamping questions . Just not sure really if we will still really be asked like these though. Anyone who has experienced, kindly post.
