The mean salaries are certainly lower than the quoted figure (with the exception of full professors), but most placements at top 50 schools are definitely within your range.
wow that's all what I can say.. I didn't know that professors are paid that much. Does econ professors earn that much too? (I guess not since I think b-schools get most of their revenue from their MBA programs which usually charge students ridiculously high tuition, but then the returns are usually worth the initial investments). I'm asking this because my goal is to work for a NGO and then become a professor in the future (or work in a central bank or a think-tank) so I'm just wondering

And since longshot brought it up.. does anyone have any idea about some rankings out there that rank phd programs in business? Thanks!

longshot just joined TestMagic.
Econ salaries are about 30% lower on average. Business PhD rankings are along departmental lines, so you'll have to be specific as to whether you want to rank programs in finance, marketing, accounting, management, etc.
