Help me out please : admission to Doctoral Program

Hi

I am graduate student in Industrial engineering. I want to go for PhD in supply chain/ Operations management. Most of these degrees are offered in business schools, since my background is different I am slightly confused. I really want to get admit in top ranked business school.

I have strong academics (GPA- 4.0/4.0) and also my graduate school in among top 15 graduate schools in U.S.A.

I have taken GRE and Toefl but I have not taken GMAT. Is it mandatory to have GMAT score?
(My GRE : 1340 (760 Quant + 580 Verbal), Toefl : 103 (IBT)

I have taken courses in various areas of Supply chain at my university.

Different Courses I have done : Production planning, Scheduling, Inventory, Logistics, Six sigma, Engineering economy, Simulation, Statistics, Supplier management, Enterprise planning, Stochastic modeling and probability.

However I do not have no strong work experience or research experience. I worked after my undergrad in India for 8 months. Also masters program is non-thesis, will this matter?

What are my chances of getting admit?

I know I am asking too many questions at a time but please help me out.

I appreciate your help.

You look like a great candidate for a PhD in supply chain/ Operations management. You'll probably want to take the GMAT as most schools will prefer it, but otherwise you look fine. Research and work experience aren't mandatory for PhD programs in business. It's good to have a preferred area of research coming into the program, but again, experience isn't necessary.

We'll have some idea of where you can get an admit after we see a GMAT score. You'll also need to obtain some letters of recommendation from past professors (preferably from your highly ranked masters program). You can easily accomplish both of those tasks this fall and apply for admission this year. Most applications are due in January, for programs that start in August, so you'll have plenty of time.
