UW Milwaukee may have faculty you're interested in working with, but their placements aren't amazing. You should add some stronger programs to your list.

UW Milwaukee placed quite a few of its recent graduates in industry which may not be a very good sign. What do you people think, Is programs placing grads in industry a sign of weakness?

I will also apply to Univ of Pitts, Connecticut, and GSU.

It's certainly not a sign of strength, if your goal is a position in academia.

Placing in industry is not necessarily bad. I have seen HBS grads in industry - finance mostly.

You may try UWM. Its never too late to give it a shot !! Go for it !!

Rice University has recently started its PhD program in Marketing (& Finance) and its Mktg dept has some excellent faculty. Should I apply to its PhD program or will it be beyond my reach?
