What would you do in this case? (relevant experience for the Ph.D.)
Hi guys
What would you do in this case? I´m interested in a Ph.D. in Finance, and have the chance to collaborate with research in development economics with a senior economist from a high profile international organization. Even if it´s not directly related to the intended Ph.D., would it tangibly help with the admissions? Thanks in advance. |

From what I've seen on the subject, it sounds like good exp. My reasoning is based upon the assumption research exp., professional or academic, any area, would be a boost to your application. That's what a PhD is all about anyways, research!
I'd go for it! Last edited by WallStGolfer31 : 02-02-2007 at 12:39 AM. |

My impression (and it's just that):
At worst it can help a bit, with other factors that could make it help a lot: - The work clearly demonstrates creativity/smarts - It gets published (duh) - The guy you're working with is known in the finance academic community |
