Do you prepare before PhD (Finance) program starts?

Hi,

Think it's clear from the subject. How do prepare for math and stat? I am a finance graduate and did only the required math and stat courses. I know many current PhD students regularly browse this site. Your comments will be an asset.

What kind of math/stat background is required for top 30 finance programs?

Please help guys/gals.

shootermcgavin7 is almost a TestMagic guru.
If you don't have any sort of mathematical statistics background (normally a 3000 or 4000 level class at most math depts); the first Econometrics core course is going to be a lot of work.
